  • Phone Rage Part 2

So, I know I got great advice last time that I had a phone tantrum and I don't deserve to rant, but ....

Thomas and I opted not to take our phones in. He told me that if we could stick it out for 7 more months that Verizon would give us another free/cheap phone for re-signing up for two more years. It felt complicated to me to switch phones temporarily again in the middle of this and now I have pictures etc on the phone that I can't seem to get off of it ... and so I put off the idea of borrowing someone else's phone, etc. I suppose that's how they get people to stick with crappy phones. You put your information on it, get it set up, and even if you hate it you end up sticking with it for awhile.

With our air conditioning repair looming in the next 2 weeks, I totally bough into the idea of waiting to get a new one and just sticking with what I have for now. After all, this is a total first world problem. I even felt silly complaining about it. I'm lucky to have a cell phone.

Thomas has been perfectly fine with his phone and he really hasn't been able to see why I'm so bent out of shape at all most of the time. Then last night, during an update, his phone froze. It's been frozen for 18 hours now. He came to me, told me from the very beginning he knew Windows phones were crap and that he was done with it.

And .... drumroll .... he took his in to replace it telling me he wouldn't settle for Windows Phone crap. He wants out of the contract and into a new phone.

My phone which I begged him to take too? NO!!!! He told me it makes calls and texts and to forget it.

So after we made an agreement to wait, he completely renigged on it. I was the phone hater and HE is getting a new phone because HE works and HE needs his phone for important doctor functions.

    Just whining, I know!

    Kris

I completely stink at making decisions which is why I've been perfectly willing to let him pick a phone and also explains some of why I feel like I don't know what to do with my phone. I have phone paralysis.

Mwahaha. They wouldn't change out his phone!!!! It is FROZEN in a download mode, they couldn't fix it, and they told him that they needed 48 hours to get a new phone to him...and only the same phone. They were rude and require an early termination plan.

My husband is a fairly mild-mannered guy in public and he said they almost called security to get rid of him. He accused them loudly of selling sub-par products. He made a huge scene. He told them we have phone insurance, that he works tomorrow and has to have his phone for work. (He is actually on call tomorrow and the hospital doesn't do pagers anymore) LOL

I can't believe he would make a big scene in public. He just walked in the door and he is HOT.

He wants to be done with Verizon today. LOL.

This is so much fun. #badwife

I'm so ticked off for you. I can't believe he'd say he deserves one because he's a dawkter and you're not. Kind of glad they took him down a peg, TBH... Anyway, use this if you can to convince him to get out of the contract and get a nice phone that actually works. Ugh, Thomas. Really?...

I agree! The diminishing your contribution was what really stuck out to me. Sure, he needs his phone for work, so do you. It just strikes me as really disrespectful of you. Ugh.

He cracks me up. He is now considering early termination and told me I will get the expensive phone and he will take a crap phone ... all without me arguing or saying a thing. Silence is golden. hehe. Clearly, insight is settling in slooowly.

I, however, was outraged on my own behalf!

I am the master! Mwahaha! I have been patient and understanding all day. I offered him my phone for work while his is sent away.

We are now on the way to T-Mobile to ditch horizon and get new phones!

              Woo! Good for you.

I love t-mobile; we've been customers for a LONG time, and have always been happy with the service and price. I even had a manager at our local store call me last year because they'd rolled out new plans that meant we could get what we'd already been getting on our old plans for $30 less per month, and she wanted us to know about it.

                      Glad he wised up.

My parents just made the switch from Verizon to TMobile. They like it so far. I refuse to give up unlimited data and I don't like the service I get from TMobile on my work phone so we are sticking it out so far.

We LOVED TMobile in AZ but it has spotty service in TN so we had to switch to Verizon. No issues but we just have a family share plan and iPhones so we're all good, lol.

Glad you got a new phone Kris, I've heard great things about the Galaxy!

Dh had one and returned it due to faulty microphone. Other than not being able to use it as a phone he liked it. I hope they fixed that issue unless you don't like talking on the phone! Yeah for new phones!

Happy has quickly turned on us.

We paid a $600 deactivation fee with verizon and switched to t-mobile. It turns out they have no coverage in the hospital (which is why we switched from sprint to verizon years Ago.

Verizon truly treated dh like crap over this phone issue. Told him he would have to send phone in and wouldn't exchange or provide a loaner. Told him literally to buy a cheap phone, add it to our account and return it when his phone came back. He said it was ridiculous and they told him to go home, call customer service then come back.

we might be stuck switching back after all. This is ridiculous.
