Try looking online at Zulily or at 6pm. They have a ton of shoes and they are usually pretty reasonable and they have a variety of sizes and types.

I like to hit the Macy's clearance racks during a good sale (when you get an extra % off with your card). Part of it is the thrill of the hunt -- yes, I've grabbed a shoe someone else was eyeing. You snooze you lose! ha!

DSW's clearance section is fun too. Or at least entertaining. My teens and I have spent an hour just trying on shoes in that section. LOL

Nordstrom's half-yearly sale is going on right now. Pretty good prices and they now do free shipping both ways.

I generally think you get what you pay for, unless you are in the mood to hit up the sale racks of designer clothes. I've all but given up on consignment shops (because the dressing rooms are so dark I come home and can't believe how hideous I look) and everything I've purchased at Kohls just looks cheap. I'd rather pay more less often for quality than have a bunch of faded tops in my closet.

I have found my best shoes (and best deals) at a local thrift shop. I'm not sure what fashionista is breaking them in for me and then tossing them to this shop, but I've 4 pairs of fab shoes that I bought for $5 a pair. And so comfy from day one. I need to remember things like that whenever I'm bummed about something else at my current locale. Can't beat my current shoe shopping situation.
