We've never qualified to claim it. Whoa, Kelly! I can't believe you spent that much! Holy Cannoli!

Mine keeps spiraling. Somebody needs to stop me! I still have everything in my amazon cart. I'm hoping to keep putting things back. Lands End had everything 30% off so I go some great deals on winter outerwear and ski stuff, but man that adds up quickly. And, I only really have to buy for the oldest kid since I pass the rest down. Living in cold climates is way more expensive!!!

I keep buying for myself and extras for the baby. It's bad.

To be clear, I save receipts for everything. Everything. I let the accountant sort out whats what. We don't get to deduct squat. That is why we set up a corporation for any ancillary streams of revenue to deduct expenses against. Shit. Now I'm going to the big house for tax evasion with all the mobsters.

This is really our first year being able to spend more than a few hundred dollars for the entire season. This is also our first year sending out photo holiday cards and getting anything for extended family. (We had family portraits done and are sending out nicely framed prints to the 'rents.) We'll see how much we fork over.

We also have a weird dynamic. Between late-November and early-February, we have a shit ton of costs for special occasions: DD1's birthday, DH's birthday, Christmas, DD2's birthday, our anniversary, my birthday, and Valentine's Day.

It's true! In Seattle you really don't need much. We've had a cold snap here, and I had to overnight mittens for dd from zappos, because all the stores are sold out!

I hoard things in my amazon cart, too.

Ladybug, are you buying all gender neutral stuff for your kids, so that your littlest gets it all eventually when he's ready?

I used to buy gender neutral as much as possible, but dd has a pixie haircut, and while she loves having short hair, she HATES being called a boy. . So, I make sure her outerwear is in girly colors.

I know I'm going to regret shopping when we get hit with medical bills from the birth and board exam fees. Expect a rude awakening this spring.

Not gender neutral, but since it goes through three girls I will invest in higher quality for outerwear. However, it really doesn't stop Jude from wearing it. Yesterday he wore a pink gymboree hat to school. Everyone got such a kick out of it. He also loves to play house with the girls. Apparently, they wrap him up and he plays the baby. It's all he knows!

OH, and I've gotten into a nice ring of pass-it-along friends. We've get some great outwear and holiday stuff that hasn't been worn often. It's saved me huge bucks.

I don't know how much we spend. The non-md staff in DH's clinic and dept drive nicer cars than us and have nicer houses. I was glad this year they suggested donating to buy gifts for patient families in need instead of the doc buying everyone presents.

We did get 5 ornaments off the magi tree at church. But each only has one item listed. Our kids didn't ask for huge items, the girls asked for stuff they need for dance (new ballet bag, new makeup cases, trash bag shorts, etc.).

Am I the only person who ends up spending hundreds of $$$ every year on herself? Not as Christmas presents, but because I'm awesome? I never shop as much as at Christmas which lends me to discover so many delightful items I need for me!
