  • New Like Option

I like the new option but can someone direct me to where I can change the preferences on e-mails? I'm getting an e-mail every time someone likes one of my posts.

    Thanks!

Go to your settings. You should be able to disable the post-thank you hack emails.

Speaking of this mod...can anyone else see the thanks thingies under their own posts? For some reason, I can't see them under mine. Seems weird not to be able to see who/if someone liked your post.

Yah ... it seems kind of weird. I have an email into the developer. I think he screwed up and made it so that you can't view your own posts, which sort of defeats the purpose. I paid for this mod too. Sigh.

It's really cool, I'll have to check in on the browser more often.

I'll be honest...I like the "like" option, but not a really fan of the "dislike" option. It just seems like a bad idea.

Might come in handy on the rant/vent thread...I wouldn't want to 'like' some of the stuff on there.

I only see the "Like" button on my computer but I think it's a fun idea😃

Looks like each user may not see which of their posts are "liked" individually, but there is a user stat link added in the username bar. In it, it shows Likes, Dislikes, Blog Posts, etc. So, over time, I guess you'd see who the posting "stars" are but not the individual posts that are liked and by who.

I think I'd rather see the likes as individual feedback on each post so it was kind of a short hand thumbs up to a user without having to post something like "I agree" in the thread, but as you posted Kris, the developer didn't seem to make it that way. It does seem to function as a reputation system, though.

Check your post now, Angie. I just liked it. It looks like a bar pops up only if someone likes/dislikes/thanks your post. You can see the thanks/likes/dislikes on other users posts regardless. As more people use the like function then you should notice it more under your own posts, it would seem. It does function as a reputation system too.

As far as the dislike function goes.....it isn't meant to be a way to disagree with people. Hopefully, we're all grown up enough not to use it in an unkind way. If I post that I break my leg (for example...and I better not now that I just put that out into the universe!) then feel free to dislike it!
