So, there's a TED talk that basically says that we feel more powerful if we stand up, feet spread apart, with our hands on our hips-- like Wonder Woman. Some Harvard sociologists found standing like that decreases cortisol (stress hormone) and increases testosterone, which is apparently the balance of hormones that leaders have and is useful in crisis. I'm thinking that, while we don't have major crises just the general irritations of residency, it might be useful for me to try this every day, before i start work or when something is proving more challenging than I'd like. I figure it can't hurt and it might help. Right? At the very least, maybe I'll laugh at how silly I feel Standing Like Wonder Woman. (How gorgeous Linda Carter was...)
