DH used to work at a running shoe store and had to explain that one to customers about a million times too many... "No, you don't need something with 'arch support'..." I used to be super-loyal to Asics too, but then they narrowed the toebox of the Nimbus. I went and picked up a new pair thinking I could just get the same model and size as my last pair, and the new pair pressed on some nerve and made my toes go numb. Best way to kill brand loyalty--change something!
I used to wear the Nimbus, but it just didn't allow for a natural enough range of motion for me. It aggravates my neuromæ after walking about a mile. The narrow toe box is also problematic, almost more so than anything else. I don't have wide feet, but even a marginally narrow toe box causes problems with inflammation around that nerve.

I have no issues when using New Balance Minimus. I can walk for miles and never injure myself while doing CrossFit. The flexibility in the sole and footbed combined with just a tiny skosh of built-in arch support (not in the form of foam, but in the shoes' basic architecture), works REALLY well for my needs.

I'll have to give those a look when I need a new pair!

Did you have the neroma before you started wearing the nimbus?

I have inserts too. I don't think I could pull off running at all without them.

Ha! My newest stability shoe is the nimbus-15, and I like it also.
No numbness, and I can wiggle all my toes.
Maybe they restructured the toe box?

Before Nimbus. I got them because they were recommended to fit orthotics well. They had me at hello.

Oh so that makes sense. I actually had orthotics before the current neuroma (well I guess the same neuroma, but it took like a 6 year hiatus) - but I had a few other issues when I got the fist pair of inserts - almost forgot the neuroma was around back the. Because it went away with the injections that time.

I just thought it was strange for a second that we all had neuromas and all wore nimbus. Just making sure I wasn't making it worse!

Or you just have different feet! I would switch back to it, though, if they did. Like running on fluffy clouds!

Yes, I realize the intent of the OP but still

Have you looked online for their wide widths? My super wide-footed dh gets the Nimbus every time because he can get them in 4E or something like that. But you're right, change is frustrating. I used to get Levi's jeans every time because they were the only ones with a "short" size that was short enough for me, but a while ago they changed the lengths and now even those are too long. Uncool!

                                When I see "Nimbus"???
