Yes, this. Especially since she's estranged from her family. Do they know how serious the situation is? This breaks my heart.
They do. They are going to try and do some of her "bucket list" things if she is well enough. Our sitter goes with her to most appointments, and seems to think the mid-20's estimate might be generous.

I meant the family; hopefully they can get over themselves and step up to the plate. This young lady is incredibly blessed to have the friends that she does. Your sitter is pretty awesome.
I got an update from our sitter. At her most recent appointment, D was given only a few more weeks. I'm heartbroken for our sitter, although the quality of life that D would/does have is not much. They're taking her to Lexington next weekend to see the big horse farm there.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope the end of her journey is peaceful and without pain.

Thanks, guys. They did get D a wheelchair, so that was something. They have always lived in an accessible building. They still are handling taking D to dialysis and appointments, though.

D stopped dialysis on Wednesday. J and their other roommate are now in the emergency room with her. It is only a matter of time, but D will probably pass before Easter. J is very appreciative of your thoughts and prayers.
