  • How did you buy your gifts this year?

    Online or in the shops?

I used to love going into the stores but this year I did 90 percent of my shopping online.

Mostly online. Probably 80-90%, like you.

95% online. I bought 3 pairs of socks, a pencil sharpener, and stocking stuffers in a store, but that's it. I love it!!!! I have done my shopping mostly online for the past 3 years, and it saves so much time that I will never go back. It also allows DH and I to shop together, which is much more fun.

90% online. I hate crowds, especially around the holidays.

About 80% online. Dh and I love to shop together but we only had a little time to do that this year.

Same here. I did most of the kids' stocking stuffers at Target, but almost everything else came in the mail. Love it!

I'd say 50-75% online. The distant relatives got wine and food baskets that DH picked out in a local shop, who shipped them. Parents will also get wine from a local shop, tchotchkes from local shops, and I think Heifer donations. Stocking stuffers I'm going out for today at the local toy shop. But all the kids' presents are from Amazon except the ones from chesshouse.com (which is semi-local, as they are online-only but their warehouse is 1.5 hours from us!)

Amazon Prime got a huge chunk of our business, but they certainly weren't the only online retailer we used. I picked up a couple things in town, but not much because there just isn't much here.

Same here. I hate malls during the holidays unless it's really early in the morning or late at night so mostly online this year. Although I did do 5 stores in 2 hours including the post office, which was kind of amazing.

Amazon and eBay, with the exception of everyone's Christmas jammies.

Online (amazon & B&N, almost entirely), and stocking stuffers at Target and brick-and-mortar B&N.

Yeah, I know I could probably save 20% off the whole bill on stocking stuffers if I drove way out to BFE (where the Wal-Mart is), but in Atlanta, you have to consider the drive time and gas costs in determining whether it's worth it.

95% online. I love bargain hunting online. I got a few things in stores though.

I think I did about half and half this year surprisingly - money wise we bought the big things in store because they weren't something we could get from Amazon and we didn't want to pay shipping.

We went to a movie, lunch and did some shopping at our big outdoor shopping center here today - it was busy and the lines at the 2 stores we went into were ridic!
