I'll drive up to the CLEVE for sure!! And I'll pick up Cassy on the way haha!

DH takes step 1 in June... That's a pretty big deal in our house lol

DH is also turning 30 this year (June! ) so I'm trying to plan a trip to meld together both the completion of step1 and the birthday!

Maybe a baby this year? I can keep being optimistic... Right?

My best friend is having her second bambino in July and DH and I are taking big brother for a special sleep over when baby comes.

      Turks & Caicos in February,

Love, love love Turks! My best friend's parents live there these days and we used to take fabulous girls' weekends trip down there. I haven't been back since my husband started med school in 2009, but I will go again (can't wait).

          YES!

I'm going to add "potential Sooner National Championship Run" to my list (although I guess that would really be 2015?)

          I can dream

Nothing too big for us this year, which is fine. DS#2 will get his license. We *may* finish paying off DH's student loans, which would leave us with our mortgage as our only debt. We're going to FL for Spring Break. DS#1 is going to Paraguay on a medical mission trip this summer.

We're looking forward to 2014, too!
              - Having all our really high-interest debt paid off
              - First big project on our house: updating our living room built-in to hold a larger TV and replacing the ugly green fireplace
              - Take the kids on a vacation to a beach somewhere
              - Hoping DH's group decides to make him a partner
              - DH will retake the oral board exam and hopefully be done with certifications for a long time

Mainly I'm just looking forward to some stability. Unless something dramatic happens, we shouldn't be moving for years. If his group makes a decision on partnership, that will make me feel a lot more comfortable that this can be home. (They told him at the beginning that they would probably make a decision when he's been there about 2 years, so we're not exactly sure.) I love that our kids are getting old enough that I don't dread traveling with them, and I think this year will be a fun year for small trips with them. I feel so much better that we have a budget we can live with that allows us to make progress on the debt. After our first year of attendinghood, I felt like we'd just continue bleeding money and never get it paid off.

Seattle in February? You must love cold rain. If you're up for it, a trip to the east side of the mountains to see yours truly would at least get you some mountains and snow.

-We'll be heading to a Seahawks game next week. Playoffs. Woot!

-DD1 graduates and will be heading off to college.

-DH was asked to speak at a sports medicine conference about weightlifting injuries in Copenhagen this summer. We're planning on taking extra time on either side of the conference to explore and visit with one of my HS friends who lived in Copenhagen.

I was looking at that the other day for a spring vacation. (in the Italian section?) So if you're going again, you must have loved it. Can you share what you loved about it? (It's spendy, so I am cautious. )

                            For us, 2014 brings:

-hopefully DH can find his balance in his new position. Still rough waters.
-a lot of vacations. (usually it's only a week, tops) DH took 7 weeks this year and we're leaving town for 6 of them. (Any attending spouse knows what happens when you stay home...) One of them is an extended family trip to Disney. We rented a house for us, my mom, my brothers and their families. It should be chaotic, but fun. I've been blessed with two fantastic SILs.
-hopefully, I will be starting grad school in the fall.
-another hopefully. HOPEFULLY, I can reach my damn goal weight without backpedaling again. Ugh.
-I'm redecorating part of the house because it didn't quite come together they way I wanted it to when we built and we need new furniture anyway. (thank you children and pets)

I'm hoping for a great year!!!

Must love freezing rain is definitely a prereq! Also big umbrellas that you're willing to lose when you forget them, a rain outfit complete with fancy rain boots, and frequent Starbucks coffee breaks from the rain.

One day I promise myself to vacation to this magical place with my dh. It sounds divine!

It is spendy! This will be the last year we go for a few, not because we don't love it but because we have other trips we want to take and it's the only one we took last year other then BILs wedding.

We stay in the French Village. We get up every morning and have breakfast together, then we drop the kids off at kids Club (they ask when they're going from the moment they get up!), we pick them up about 2 and then we hang as a family until the show after dinner. By then they are exhausted and out! DH and I can then sit on our terrace with drinks while they sleep. That is pretty much our routine the entire week we are there. We get a one BR room with 3 beds but my kids are younger. A room with more bedrooms would be a lot more, I think. It's really all inclusive, they don't allow tips, we only had one meal we didn't like, they have tons of different restaurants. One night we went for sushi, the kids decided they didn't like it, the waiter went next door and got them Mac and cheese. It was just one example of the outstanding customer service, it truly is a family resort and the kids have been asking to go back since we left.
