Big year for us! DH finishes his Navy payback in June and we are moving to Ohio for The Job. Then, DD starts kindergarten! I will have a new nephew in April as well. We have a few vacations planned too, so I'm psyched to start 2014!

I'm very excited. I'm done with the frigid temps of the northern midwest. Ohio is a good 10 degrees warmer than here on any given day!

Congrats to you! That is such good news. I'm sure you will enjoy the slightly warmer weather. I get freaked when I see the weather up there in your area!!

Maui in a month, then celebrating 5 years of home ownership (!), then the end of co-op preschool (I've loved our four school years but the responsibility keeps growing and I am about fried), then a summer of outdoor fun/hiking/camping/learning, then fall heralds the milestone of our youngest entering elementary school. *sob* Mah baby is gonna be a kindergartener!

In my pre-kid, pre-husband days, we stayed at my friend's parents' place, which made it especially delightful/affordable. It is an extraordinarily beautiful place.

I have not decided if I am happy it is 2014 or not. On one hand I love that we are halfway through residency but then I know what that means, Fellowship and boards. I don't want to move, he wants to move to do a 2 year fellowship. We interview this year and match early 2015. I have banned fellowship talk till we get back from vacation in March. I am sure there will be some heartbreak during fellowship talks. Medicine is a bitch.

On the bright side you could end up somewhere warmer...

I've accepted DH will have to do a fellowship to be competitive in the Rads job market, but I'm hoping for a 1 year

Out of the Midwest entirely or just Michigan?

I told DH I may kill him if he doesn't get me out of the Midwest period. It's looking like probably Georgia for us. I'd love that.

I'm so glad you're looking forward to this move, but I won't lie -- I totally wish you were coming towards the west coast.
