What is your favorite fruit? I've not been a huge fan of fruit since I was little, so I'm working really hard to get back into fruits and veggies. I have major, major texture issues with food. Currently, my faves are pink lady apples and blueberries. I'm weird about food in that I like the flavors of lots of things, but actually chewing them sometimes repulses me (see: strawberries, other types of berries, pomegranate). If it can be blended up with yogurt into a smoothie, I'm all over it. We keep many bags of frozen berries in our freezer for my smoothies.

What is your favorite vegetable? Another category I'm trying to work on. Again - love tastes, despise texture. I absolutely love sautéing peppers and onions with things because I love the flavors, but I literally gag if I bit down on one of them. Currently, my fave veggies are spinach and kale - I'm good about my leafy greens! I'm trying to do things like mash up and spread avocado onto things because that texture isn't so bad. And potatoes, I may or may not have just made myself some hashbrowns for dinner.

What is one thing you eat or do with food that other people find to be weird or disgusting? Probably more of what I *don't* eat that people find weird. I consider myself a food purist - i.e.: when I order a cheeseburger, I literally want the cheese and the burger. I constantly order things without spreads, aiolis, peppers, onions, avocado, crumbly/stinky cheese, nuts etc. It absolutely kills my husband ("you left off all the good stuff! You're ruining it!" "Sure, I'll try a bite. *takes a bite*. Yeah, it's good but I'm sure it would have been way better if you'd gotten it as described on the menu"). This is the major reason we rarely share entrees. There are also a couple things I secretly like that are embarrassing (and some would find disgusting): McNuggets (which I never, ever eat because I know they are like, the most awful thing ever but they are so crunchy and good to me), those snack cakes that are chocolate cake rolls with creme in them (can't remember the name).

What is your favorite drink? Tequila. I genuinely love tequila. Red wine (no pinot noir). Water.

What would your last meal be? It would really depend - anything from my mom's spaghetti and meatballs, my husbands smoked chicken wings, a really great, medium-rare burger and perfect fries, really good olive oil and warm bread, a filet, etc. It would just depend on my mood. Whatever it was, the meal would have to end with my mom's chocolate chess pie. There is simply nothing like it.

Are you a picky eater? Yes. I am working really hard on changing that. II always look to my uncle for inspiration - he is a gourmet chef by hobby and makes amazing food. He's such a great cook that his kid's school actually auctions off a dinner party at their house during fundraisers. Until he was in college he would pretty much only eat cheerios and little debbie cakes. Now look at him!

Do you like it spicy? In 8 years, DH has really expanded my spice tolerance. He LOVES spicy - seriously we go through sriracha like crazy - and I used to dislike anything but mild. Now I'm up to medium and sometimes hot! I enjoy spicy foods most of the time.

What is the most exotic/strange food you've tried? How was it? Nothing too crazy - probably beef carpaccio in Paris. It was an accident, DH ordered it and knew what it was, I wasn't paying attention and tasted it when he offered some. I wasn't prepared for it to be raw and taste like lime. It wasn't bad!

Favorite fruit: Pineapple, grapes, and kiwi
Favorite vegetable: Peas, green beans, and asparagus but it makes my pee smell funky so that kind of blows
      Weird food: Pigs' feet
Favorite drink: Green tea or a good dessert wine
Last meal: Shit, this is hard so I'll go surf n' turf...a big, juicy steak with garlic mashed potatoes and shrimp and crab, some sushi, and load up on dessert. Doesn't matter what as long as it's got sugar and lots of it.
Am I a picky eater? Yes and no. I'll chow down on anything that doesn't move but can go long periods of just eating one thing.
      Spicy? Hell yes.
What's the most exotic food...look at the aforementioned pigs' feet. I also like to mix things that normal people would find repulsive.

        MMMMM. Food Week!!!

What is your favorite fruit? One? Impossible. Pineapple, Strawberry, banana ... variations of the three! Oh .. cantaloupe and watermelon .... yum

What is your favorite vegetable? brussels sprouts and green beans

What is one thing you eat or do with food that other people find to be weird or disgusting? I eat french fries using mayonnaise as dipping sauce. Apparently, to some that's disgusting. I also put potato chips inside of my sandwiches and french fries inside of the bun of my burgers to eat them. Yum.

What is your favorite drink? diet coke

What would your last meal be? Quarter Pounder with cheese, French Fries and large diet coke

Are you a picky eater? No

Do you like it spicy? Yes. Very.

What is the most exotic/strange food you've tried? How was it? I'm not an exotic food eater.

What is your favorite fruit? Apples and raspberries

What is your favorite vegetable? Carrots (raw only), potatoes, and sugar snap peas

What is one thing you eat or do with food that other people find to be weird or disgusting? Hm. I'm having trouble thinking of anything.

What is your favorite drink? Probably a good root beer. The WBC I can get in bottles at Costco here is good, Abita makes a good one, so does Thomas Kemper.

What would your last meal be? That's a tough one; maybe a little bit of a bunch of favorites? Butter chicken, pepperoni pizza, extra-crispy bacon, pesto alfredo fettuccine...

Are you a picky eater? Extremely. There are hardly any cooked vegetables I like (and few raw ones), and I detest chunks of tomato or onion in things (though I like the flavors of them, just not the chunks).

Do you like it spicy? Yes, to a point. That point is "pain". A little burning with strong complex flavor is good, but when it gets actually painful, I'm out.

What is the most exotic/strange food you've tried? How was it? Can't think of a single "exotic" food I've eaten, but I've had #5, and 1, 2, and 3 on here sound good: http://www.endlesssimmer.com/2013/06...-in-your-life/

            1-favorite fruit is watermelon.
            2-grilled bell peppers. Yummy.
3-peanut butter on my pancakes. My grandpa would make me breakfast supreme on days my grandma was gone. Pancakes, crunch peanut butter, syrup and powdered sugar. A kids dream!
4-coke from a glass bottle. Very cold
5-oh man...pizza or chips and salsa
            6-yep
            7-love the spice
8-not sure on this. I have tried a lot

Questions of the Week: January 16th Food Week!

                  What is your favorite fruit?

Probably fruit salad with ripe pineapple, CA fresh strawberries, juicy watermelon, cantaloupe melon... Apples straight from the tree are pretty amazing.

                  What is your favorite vegetable?

Fresh asparagus (as in picked within 2 days of eating it) is delicious. I don't like broccoli much but I'll eat it. Spinach is yummy.

What is one thing you eat or do with food that other people find to be weird or disgusting?

I put cranberry sauce on all sorts of stuff. I don't know if it's weird, but my kids do not like it. I also love anchovies on Caesar salad, which isn't weird but again my kids think it's gross.

                  What is your favorite drink?

                  Margaritas. With lots of salt.

What would your last meal be?

Filet mignon. Homemade bread. Desserts galore-- especially a really good tres leches cake.

                  Are you a picky eater?

                  No

                  Do you like it spicy?

Yes-- about a medium at thai places but I can tolerate pretty spicy.

What is the most exotic/strange food you've tried?
                  How was it?

Ugh. I was tricked into eating cesos. That's brain. Cow brain. I was an exchange student in Mexico and they told me I needed to try this. There were like 30 people watching me eat it..... It was gross, like runny potato.
