I will admit I do not mind a well-tattooed man . DH doesn't have any yet but he's been perfecting one in his mind for years and I think he's finally settled on a location so it wouldn't surprise me if he got one before residency is finished.

I don't. I'd love to get something on my hip/butt area, but I can't think of anything that I want on me permanently. If I ever did decide, it would be something without a black outline, somewhat in the watercolor style.

For me, the whole thing about tattoos is even if I get to the point where I think "man maybe that wasn't such a good idea" then they would still stand for the distance I've come since I got them. Plus if I'm still worrying about how awesome my body (doesn't) look(s) when I'm 75 I'll have bigger problems to deal with than the fact that the raven on my back has started to look like a sad pelican.

Edit: also I used to have a bod piercing but I took it out for an MRI and never bothered to put it back in...
Who are you waiting to hear back from? Musa??? Xoil isn't my absolute favorite but a lot of these great artists aren't exactly in my top places to travel right now. With Xoil we can head over to Switzerland for a couple days and if need be head back and finish having work done with him.

Probably one of the most meaningful processes of getting a tattoo is reckoning with the fact that it IS with you for the rest of your life. I also remember admiring tattoos on WWII veterans as a child so I've never really cared what they'll look like when I start to sag. It's part of the process

I don't have any but Damn do I want one. My issue is that there is nothing I am that dedicated to that I would want to put it on my body permanently. At one point, I would have went for a music related tat... now I no longer play an instrument. Or a cross, I am no longer religious. So I can't decide. But I have many a wet dream about covering myself in beautiful artwork.

DrBtobe doesn't want any but he'd like FINE with one on his broad shoulders.

I think I have a real problem with tats. I used to sleep with a guy simply because I couldn't get enough of his tats. Ok, the sex was amazing too but I still think about his tats.

No, I'm waiting to hear from the (non-tattoo-specific) artist I asked to do a reference picture first. Then I have to find a tattoo artist who won't botch it. One (verrrry slow) step at a time...

I've been thinking of getting a tattoo, and maybe I'm crazy, but, I've got an idea in mind.

Something like this - an infinity symbol with my kids names. Also, I kind of want some watercolor elements to it with blues, pinks, purples.

I don't know where I want it. I was thinking ankle, but I'd like to be able to hide it, professionally, so maybe my shoulder? I'm not sure.

              Where would you do it?

                Do you have any tattoos?

                I have no idea.

I really want one too, the Portuguese word for strength: forteleza. Maybe on the front of my hip?

I'm thinking collar bone area. Hmmm. If I put it on my hip no one would ever see it except me and DH. Cause this girl will never rock a bikini again. I don't know.

I loooovveeee that second tattoo you posted. I used to know who drew it.

Think about how often you want the general public to see it. Never? Sometimes? All the time? How much thought do you want to have to put into it being hidden? Then think about the kinds of clothes you wear. Lots of short / sleeveless shirts? Open toed shoes? Shirts above / below the collarbone?

I have to be careful about my back piece because it shows with just about any sleeveless shirts. Unless I have a rapport with the teaching program / orchestra / whatever I generally don't like showing tats. I like to feel confident, not self conscious.

My oldest sister recently got this and I'm oh so proud. Not only is it awesome and unique (flying geese quilting pattern, her fav) but now I'm not the only person in the fam with a tattoo

I want one at the top of my butt, to the right of the normal tramp stamp spot - the fatty area. Parts of it would show if I ever wore a shorter shirt or a bikini, but mostly it would be for me (and hubby). Pretty sure I'll never come up with anything though.

I have three. All below my bikini line - each hip and one a little below - who knows what is going to happen with the bebe!

I'm sure it would hurt. I'm going to mull it over a while longer. Pick out the best artist I can find. Then, then, I'll do it.

I'd do either above the shoulder blade or on the front of my hip were I in the market. The thought of needle on bone...yeesh!

DH has always wanted to get a wedding band tattoo, but I'm too superstitious. If I were to get a tattoo anywhere, it would be my hip bone. The only problem is I have no idea what I would get.
