  • Auvi-Q vs Epipen

I am sure this was brought up here before--- probably... Anyway my ds12 went to the allergist today who recommended to use the new style of epipen--- which is the competition actually. Anyway we picked this up and it's super cool-- definitely worth it. Much smaller, simpler, and talks you through injecting. This link might open up on a cell phone-- anyway for the fellow allergy sufferers, just wanted to let you know that this is a big improvement IMO.

Peggy - thanks for the info. We've known about this, but I didn't know anyone who had seen/used it. I'll have to see if my insurance will cover it or if our allergist can get us a copayment card (that's how I get our Epi pens free). Now I know it's worth my effort to investigate - thanks!

We have them. They are awesome! There was a $0 copay deal last year (ended 12/31/13) up to $100 off. I'd have to see if they renewed it, I imagine they're still trying to spread the word.

ETA They are still offering the deal: https://www.auvi-q.com/sign-up

I have both. I always carry the Auvi q with me. The epi pen stays in my office.

I remember that offer---- I didn't look into it bc we go through insurance, but since our insurance covered it and our allergist strongly recommended it, I have to say it's a huge improvement. This is definitely worth the investment. It's really hard to explain how user friendly this is.
