Hot damn. Let's see if I leave now and drive fast, I might could get there by halftime...

One of the other residents is having a party we'll be going to. There's always good food, fattening at her parties

                  Super Bowl!

My Seahawks are in the Super Bowl. Hell yes, we're having a party. And wearing as much of our blue and green as possible. DH and DS may even wear their Seahawks capes.

I'm making a nacho/taco bar with enchilada chicken, refried beans, homemade salsa, and all the fixings. Girls made zebra-striped cupcakes (for Beast Mode). I'm also assembling caramel, chocolate, and pretzel candies, a cheese/meat tray, veggies with hummus, and a variety of chips. Oh, and a metric shit ton of Skittles.

It all would normally sound great - right now, food isn't doing so hot with me, but I'm jealous of all the tasty treats!

Our Super Bowl party is just the two of us this year. I got in from NC about 30 min ago and as per usual, DH is neck deep in studying. I've got to hand it to him, though. I walked in to a completely straightened and vacuumed house, all the grocery shopping done, DISHES WASHED AND DISHWASHER RUNNING (OMG IS THIS THE APOCALYPSE), and FLOWERS. I was shocked and seriously impressed. Major points for this one

He's finishing up his last QBank block and then he'll be making his amazing wings. We've got chips and dips galore, and TJ's frozen lava cakes for dessert! Not too shabby for throwing it all together in a couple hours.

Go Seahawks (Pack nation is behind you, Russell!!)

I'm kind of sad. Super bowl is the one day DH almost always requests off, and we usually have a party. This year, he did have it off, but his scheduler begged him to work - 5 1/2 hours from here in Indiana. Honestly, it just sucks. I took the kids to Target and let them get all kinds of junk food they aren't usually allowed to have. Who do you think will be eating it??? (me!). Anyway, the kids and I are just having a low-key time and it is kind of cute to see them get into it. DS is rooting for Seattle, DD for Denver, so we are a house divided! I had to stop them from trash talking until the game starts - they were making me crazy!
