Do they still sell lock de-icer anywhere? That's what my parents always used when they lived in Canada and Northern IA. It's like a tiny spray bottle of antifreeze or something that you squirt into your locks... In case you're stuck somewhere without a hair dryer. I feel like it used to be much more common.

Well shit. The locks refroze. I had to reblowdry them this morning. I can't leave for the Cities because I have no blow dryer there.
I will look into a lock deicer.
Oh winter, how I hate thee.

Omg, Sylvia.
Everyone is living in winter hell. I need to retitle my post and give others a chance to vent! I'm such a whiner.Last edited by PrincessFiona; 02-03-2014, 05:02 PM.~Mom of 5, married to an ID doc

This happened to my co-worker this morning....she drove to school with one of her back doors flapping open the whole way! She lives out in the country and probably drove 15-20 minutes like that. I *loathe* this winter. We have missed 6 full days of school and have had countless 2-hr delays. Another storm is on its way tomorrow night. We are now adding days on to the end of the year. One of my van doors froze open a few weeks back but it looked close. Then the battery went dead in the garage. Good times. We snapped the handles of my last van. Those suckers are easy to break in the cold.Angie
