  • iPhone 5s

We upgraded from 4s a week ago. I'm so happy with how much faster it is, but the battery life actually seems pretty lame. Just me?

Also the fingerprint recognition works 10% of the time for me. DH doesn't have this problem. Anyone else? I'm wondering if it is the phone or me? I have odd fingerprints with lots of horizontal and vertical lines in addition to swirls.

The battery life on my 5s doesn't seem so great either, but it's been such an upgrade from my crappy iphone4 that I hadn't really thought about it until now. I haven't tried the fingerprint thing, so I'm not sure about that.

I have the 5, DH has the 5s - his battery is WAY better then mine and he has no issues with the fingerprint scan ??

Have you tried setting up your fingerprint on Jay's phone?

I have problems with the fingerprint scan when my hands are very dry/cracked or a little wet from washing them or putting on lotion.

I haven't noticed battery problems. Maybe try some of these? http://www.zdnet.com/how-to-improve-...s7-7000014902/

OMG the iPhone 5 battery life SUCKS. I seriously rage over battery life weekly. I have no idea what the problem is. We both upgraded from the 4 and love the speed, resolution, weight, but long for our iPhone 4 battery life. I keep location services off, restrict data searching from almost all my apps, etc. and yet some mornings I'll wake up, use I<3Radio for the 60 minutes it takes me to put on makeup and get dressed and drive to my deck/walk to my building, and sometimes by the time I've ALMOST made it to my building my phone has already died. Some days it's only suck to around 80%, some days it's only around 50% or so. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it, but my biggest issue with the 5 is the battery life. The battery sucks so bad in this phone that it's almost put DH off iPhone's completely. I'll remain faithful but they really need to fix that because I have to carry an extra USB charger in my purse at all times.

It sounds like it's not working properly. I'd take it in and have it looked at. But as far as it draining more quickly in the mornings - I found this explanation of it really interesting. (Scroll down to #1 - Cell Phones) http://www.cracked.com/article_19571...ry-day_p2.html. Sometimes if I know I'll be out, I take it off the charger for 15-30 minutes, then charge it back to full, and that seems to last more of the day.

Yeah, mine definitely drains faster than DH's. And I notice that when it gets down to around 25% or less, it will either die completely or will suddenly drain from 20% to 17% to 3% (or some version of that) and then shut down. It's all very odd.

It's likely that something is wrong with it, you're right. Unfortunately I've had it for over a year and a half and never did/said anything about it so I'm wondering if I've screwed myself or if they'd help me!
