  • Little things that annoy you....

We all have our triggers. What are some of the little things that annoy you?

When people write loose instead of lose or your instead of you're. I don't know why it's such a pet peeve but it is ... and occasionally, I've found myself making the same error lately. Gah!
When people gulp drinks. It's like nails on the chalkboard for me!
Teenagers who wear their pants down and you can see their underwear.

Generally, I have to say I'm pretty tolerant though.

Anything grammar-related. One that realllllly grates on me is when people use "advice" and "advise" incorrectly. You give and ask for advice, not advise. It drives me bonkers. Oh, and of course, the rampant misuse of "your." Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.

So, inappropriate grammar doesn't bother me that much. It used to bother me more than it does; however, my MIL attacks when anyone uses improper grammar in writing or speech, and THAT bothers me. "Shut your mouth, you arrogant, petty, bitch!" Now, my kids and I have lots of fun verbing nouns (see what I did there), and performing other such grammar atrocities just to piss her off.

        Ahhhhh.

Arrogance bothers me. Meanness. Mommier-than-thou shit. Self-righteous behavior. Selfishness. Bigotry.

I guess those aren't little things though.

Little things? "They" keep discontinuing my favorite products! Seriously, I can kill a brand like nobody's business.

The use of "a couple" when people are describing more than 2 things. It's the dumbest thing - I'm aware of that!

A couple can be more than two things! I had this argument with my DH and won!

This one drives me bonkers, too. Whenever someone writes "HIPPA" instead of HIPAA, I want to scratch my eyeballs out.
