  • Computer Battery

I have a 1 year old Toshiba Satellite touch screen laptop. I love it. A couple of weeks ago, it stopped keeping a charge. I checked the battery health through the health app and was surprised to find that the battery quality was poor. Toshiba wants $100 for a new battery, so I found one on Amazon for $40. I just got it and changed out the battery. Once again, it tells me that the health of the battery is poor. The battery won't charge to 100% and you basically have to stay plugged in because it depletes so quickly.

What should I do? I hate to invest $100 in a new battery when there seems to be a problem in general. Could something in my laptop be causing this?

I'm no help. I dealt with battery issues in a Toshiba laptop, then battery issues in a Dell laptop, then I finally switched to a Macbook in 2010 and I've never looked back.
