  • I'm going to meet famous people!

OK, probably not really, but they're currently setting up and will soon be filming Terminator 5 right next to my office. I'll say hi to Arnold for you guys.

Today they had the first floor set up with silver mannequins.

I was a little afraid of that! I'm really curious what they're for - if it's just a mock storefront, or if the mannequins are going to come to life. I haven't watched most of the Terminator movies, but I'm pretty sure I'll need to after seeing the filming of this one.

        Cool!

When we lived in Chicago, they filmed parts of Public Enemies on our street! It was so cool to see the transformation of our block -- removal of street signs, lamps, and in their place fake cobblestone and oil lamps. I waited outside in the cold for a couple of hours to catch a glimpse of Johnny Depp or Christian Bale, and dh, who was coming home from a late night at work found me in the crowd and goes "Christian Bale just waved to me from a black Escalade as it went around the corner." Argh!

Stranger than Fiction (Will Ferrell, Dustin Hoffman) filmed on my campus when I was in grad school. WF was an ass and never acknowledged the crowd, while DH spent a ton of time signing autographs and saying hi to people.

I get easily starstruck and think it's crazy how much goes into production!

          That's cool ALOY!

We've had quite a lot of movies filmed here lately. The first was a Nicholas Cage movie about a year ago then apparently word got around that the crew and actors loved filming here so we've since had two or three more. Currently there's a Bruce Willis movie filming downtown -- I accidently ran upon their set this week on my way to my credit union.

We've always got movies filming around here, but this is the first I've been so close to regularly.

Twilight was partly filmed in my home town. I was not amused.

There have been loads of films made in and around where I grew up. I went and watched some filming for "Maverick" when I was in HS. I learned that Jodie Foster is a relatively unpleasant person to most of those around her and that Mel Gibson loved the area so much that he allegedly built a house in my hometown.

Oh, and does anyone remember that surfing moving with Gerard Butler? It was filmed practically in our friends front yard. They live over the Santa Cruz bluffs. GB is apparently an extremely nice person.

I can attest to this. I waited on him once at the restaurant I used to work at; nice fella.

I feel irrationally sad that Will Ferrell isn't nice.

Eve's Bayou was practically filmed in my backyard growing up. I remember as a kid we used to try to ride our bikes by it all the time and see if we could get in. No such luck.

                        I would melt!

Marley and Me was filmed in Philly while we were there. Owen Wilson walked right past me walking his dog.

He isn't. He was a total grump and barely looked up.

Dustin Hoffman thought it was hilarious when one of the kids on campus yelled out "I loved you in Tootsie!" He was gracious and teeny teeny tiny.
