  • Portfolio Website Recs?

I need to compile 20+ word documents into a portfolio website for my CAP project. My CAP advisor didn't have any specific recs but said students had the most success with organizing their materials using a free portfolio website. He said a small subset of others use Google drive/docs but you have less flexibility with organization using that. I'm defending this project via phone since I am a DE student, so I need something that allows me to clearly organize all of my documents so they are easily accessed by my committee during my defense meeting. Any suggestions?

How involved do you want the site to be? webs.com is super easy and free. You can do an intro page, make it pretty with pictures or whatever and then have a docs tab. Otherwise wouldn't dropbox work?

I guess technically it doesn't have to be really "involved" per se - it's just word docs containing different pieces (well, maybe PDFs, I haven't decided if I'll convert everything yet). I do want to be really user friend and very, very organized. I don't want my committee having to click around a bunch of places during my defense since I won't be there in person. I thought about dropbox, but it seems sort of baseline to me and didn't know if anyone knew of anything a little more...flashy? I'll check out what you mentioned!

I'd prob go all out if I were you. Webs has really easy somewhat professional looking themes, backgrounds, etc. Uploading files is not intuitive but once you read the instructions it's easy. You can organized the tabs and pages however you like. Otherwise maybe google docs would work since they're probably already familiar with it.

I agree - I definitely want it to present will on its own since they won't be getting a printed and bound copy like they would if I was there in person. Off to check out webs...

          Thanks

No clue on the website, but I'd definitely convert them to PDFs. It's much easier to read than Word.
