  • Graduation Gift

I'd like to get DH something for graduation. We aren't big gift givers and he probably wont care, but I feel like I should do something to commemorate the occasion. I had a couple ideas. I got a Fisher Price doctor kit but DS found it and showed it to DH. I also got a coffee mug which DS decorated and I added DH's name, MD, PhD but DS told DH about it. The only thing I have remaining is a video I created from pictures I've been taking over the last seven years milestones along DH's path through med school and grad school. Any ideas?

I got DH some Iowa gear and a frame for his diploma (not the $$ one, but one from Hobby Lobby).

I got DH a small all-clad quart pot & lid for his graduation.
      He cooks, though, so...

I got him diploma frames from his undergrad and medical school so we can display all our diplomas together in our new house. I don't think he cares so much about all that, but I do! haha

I got DH a hangboard (like a pull up bar but has different holds depending on how many fingers you want to pull up with). He was totally obsessed with rock climbing at the time so he freaking loved it.

Does he have any hobbies or interest? You could also do something like helicopter flight?? I don't know..

DH went golfing with his dad at a fancy schmancy course, but they did it while I was on leave because graduation weekend will be insane.

I do want to get him something personalized that says "Dr First Name Last Name" on it, but I have no idea what that isn't cheesy

Since DH was going into med & peds, I got him two separate white coats. The programs gave them monogramed coats but were the cheapie kind. I bought him 2 of the $$ with the cloth knots and inside pockets and I got his peds one embroidred with rubber duckies on the pockets, a frog jumping over his shoulder, a teddy bear on his sleeve a lady bug on the back hem...I forget what else it had since he has not worn it since residency. I also got him a framed picture of himself as a MS1 the first day he wore his White Coat to see patients. Oh and we also went on a two week vacay to BCs wine region...but that was a gift to myself for putting him through med school.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

I didn't get anything for DH for graduating medical school. Oops! I got him a card for residency, but I forgot to set it aside when we packed up, and it was on the moving van already on graduation day. I think it may still be in my dresser...

DH wanted some new suits for clinic days once residency started, so that's what I got him. I want to get him something really nice for residency graduation, but have no idea what.

I really did not do anything after residency...other than take a nice trip. After fellowship, we went on another nice vacay and DH got himself a custom made bike. I freaked but our fin advisor reminded me that it could have been a car.
