A friend of mine was invited to a Grandma Shower, which is apparently a baby shower thrown for a first-time grandma. Is this really a thing?

I mean, it's sweet if a expectant grandmother's closest friends want to take her to lunch, celebrate the right of passage, or even get a little something for her or the baby but sending invitations to a wider circle of friends seems uncouth.
