My mom actually got hers done with me when I was 4. She must have been 34, and literally wore clip on earrings everyday to work before that (in the 80s). The thought of clip on earrings is so painful to me, I can't imagine!

Ugh I made that belly button mistake my senior year too. I still have that stupid hole!

I went to the piercer at a tattoo parlor. She said avoid places like Claire's because they don't regulate sanitation with guns (at least in our state).

I don't regret any of my piercings. I stopped wearing the second pair in my lobes sometime in college or grad school I think. I kept the belly button in until I started showing while pregnant with E. You can still see all the holes, but they're mostly closed.

I just Googled and I'm pretty sure it was La Lobe in Dallas.
I knew it was something different and Dallas-y instead of suburb-like. Hehe! I did remember that you were happy with them! 😀

I got mine pierced when I was 11 at Claire's it was horribly traumatic. (I'm a huge wimp). I let them close up later that's year, because they kept getting so infected...I won't go into details.

Now, I'm 31 and considering it again. (Although R told me I'd look weird with earrings. Haha) No way in hell I'd go back to the mall.
I'm just trying to make it out alive!

My mom had hers done at a doctor's office and to this day complains that they are crooked. So, maybe more sanitary, but also less concerned about the aesthetics.

Yea I had mine at 6 and let them grow in after infections. Repierced with safety pins in high school but took them out when my mom said I was self mutilating. Finally in grad school went to Claire's BC I didn't want to pay tattoo shop prices. (Multiple piercings besides ear). The girl fell in love with me, pierced for free as well as cartilage and would have kept going if I hadn't said that was enough. HAHAHA!!!
