The things Facebook makes you aware of.

I'm supposed to put butter and coconut oil in my coffee now? Why?

I'm sure it would. But I really don't want to add an extra 220 calories to my coffee everyday!

My friend does it - she says it takes the place of breakfast many days and fills her up.

I occasionally have it in place of breakfast. It's really good!

I've done it with coconut oil too! It's filling and yummy! (And not nearly as fatty those calorie-bomb frapps from Starbucks.)

I'll save my frapp rant for another day...

Adding butter and oil to your coffee sounds completely unappealing to me. But, I've never tried/used coconut oil in any capacity so I don't have a very sturdy leg to stand on. Sounds like a great way to get an upset stomach first thing in the morning.

Oh, it's completely delicious. Butter is just churned cream. Tasty, tasty cream. I was really surprised at how good the coconut oil was.

Good point. It just sounds SO rich/heavy in theory. Does it have a coconut flavor? I hate coconut (main reason I haven't jumped on that CO bandwagon).

The amount of flavor depends on how refined it is. More refined = less coconut flavor.

I use creamed coconut (coconut milk, oil, and shredded coconut) in my coffee occasionally. It's very good, but a little goes a looooooong way.

Up until it had real coconut, I haaaaaated it. The overly processed, shredded crap in the grocery store has little resemblance to the less adulterated stuff. I hate the crap for candy/cookies, but I really like the real stuff.

Minor hijack to say I used to love coconut in all forms and then the first time I drank coconut water I had my first anaphylactic reaction and now I can't even have a sweet morsel of Penang without my throat closing up
