We're having a barbecue, mostly dawkters' families and nurses' families. DH decided to go nuts on the fireworks and bought a ton of stuff, plus our neighbors have a strong tradition of throwing a huge shindig and blowing lots of stuff up...it's gonna be loud around here. I'm gonna want to hide under the bed with the pets I think.

Happy Anniversary V! Happy Bday SJ!

Today was supposed to be a washout due to Arthur/low pressure system, but it has not really rained here at all. Crossing some things off our to-do list: ordering babies' furniture, buying fruit to make a tray for a party tomorrow, doing laundry. Will scrounge up something to eat and watch the fireworks on TV. Everywhere around us has postponed to tomorrow or Sunday due to the rain last night and today.

Having the BBQ at the house. We told everyone that we would cater the food because of the shellfish allergy. One of the first year residents decided to bring a shrimp salad. When Ryan told him he couldn't bring it inside. He said, I took the shell off so it should be ok. What the hell....these people are doctors.....

We went to the pool for the afternoon as a family. Got sunburned on my parts that aren't usually exposed as I forgot to bring sunscreen. After we ate at a favorite place before going to O's guitar lesson. Now homemade pizzas are cooking in the oven. We are all tired from the sun. I expect a quiet evening.

OMG. I'm so sorry. We've had a few food-allergy doozies, but that might just take the cake. Pathetic.

Awesome day! Beautiful weather, dh was off, and we had a great time at the golf club with an old school cookout, firefly catching, super fun band, and a really amazing firework show

We didn't do much during the day. We ended up getting last minute "passes" to "the" fireworks show in town (over the river, put on by the casino). Met some new friends. Finished the night with hot Krispie Kremes!

I had a great 4th. Kris was here, along with Chad's PA, her husband, and my sister. We played games and drank. A lot. It's pretty amazing I'm not an alcoholic, because I do really well with it. I feel great today. Chad, not so much.

Gorgeous day! We missed Indy and friends we normally hang out with. We had a fun evening at the pool where we ate and the kids ran around with new acquaintances. The fireworks show was amazing.

It was a beautiful and cool day here. We broke the news to our families, grilled some steaks, and then actually skipped the fireworks because I was so drained from all the emotion and stress of talking to our families! I don't know why I found it so stressful, but everyone was very excited.

We're in New Mexico. Having a lot of fun visiting with family, although missing hubby who actually has the weekend off, but by the time we found out the flights were too expensive for it to be worth the short trip. E stayed up until 11:30 on our time (10:30 here) with only 3 short naps, and was in a surprisingly very pleasant mood the whole time.
