The packers are here today and I am struggling to stay ahead of them. Dh's idea of helping is to basically not help. He has good intentions, it's just almost exactly like the scene in the Lego movie where Emmet says, "ok, I want to help. Just tell me exactly what to do and how to do it."

    Sigh.

Seriously I'm ready to send him to the office to work on his research stuff.

I've felt terrible all day - headache, some nausea, minimal appetite. I feel certain that my supply is going to take another hit, and this will be the week I finally give E some formula. I'm sure you're all tired of hearing my breastfeeding woes by now though.

I miss E’s old daycare class. She seemed to do really well yesterday in her new class other than not eating her lunch - she took 2 hour-long naps at the right time, which was my biggest concern. But, I worry that she’s a bit sick (she felt warm this morning, but no fever), and I know she's constipated, and I told them to call if she gets worse. Her other teachers know her and know what’s normal, so I feel like they’d easily know if she was off. The new teachers are great I’m sure, but they just don’t quite know her yet.

My stomach hates me today. I have a feeling it's not going to get any better. Is tomorrow here yet?

As someone who also has an off stomach, my sympathies. Stomach pain sucks.

There is a girl I'm friends with on FB who is pregnant and continues to do Crossfit. Isn't that frowned upon? Hasn't Crossfit has a workout regimen sort of been debunked/determined to not be great for you? I know pregnancy requirements vary from person to person and are based on what shape you are in before getting pregnant (i.e. if you're a runner aren't you better suited to keep running within reason during your pregnancy?) but seeing her in a Crossfit gym with a pregnant belly just REALLY irks me. I'm probably wrong but it just seems unnecessarily risky/not good for you.

                    • I don't really know anything about it, but I've seen it before!!

I have had a few instructors/group fitness studio owners tell people to leave (usually at very intense places), but for the most part the just ask people if they "know the rules" and leave it up to them. If she does know the rules, is wearing HRM and all that stuff, perhaps it's ok?

                      • I mean I have to assume she's spoken to her doctor and is using her best judgement but man, I'm telling you the intensity of the workouts she's doing seems REALLY sketchy to me. DH would lose his mind.

                        • I mean, bad stuff can happen. Plus, depending on how far along she is, she could really f'up her joints. But I'm no doctor.....

That's what I keep telling myself every time I get super judgmental. It's none of my business anyway - it just bugs me and I had to share it ha!

For most healthy women, it's entirely fine. I've known several people who've CF'd while pregnant. And no, CF hasn't been debunked. Done *correctly*, it's a really effective and safe way to work out.

Real CF gyms are huge on making sure to use/teach proper techniques, adjusting workouts to the individual's fitness level, and making sure people recognize when they need a break. Unfortunately, a lot of non-CF trained people try to implement CF-style workouts in their gyms. Those idiots are dangerous because they aren't very familiar with the techniques and they take too many people per class. That is a recipe for injuries.

                              • I ran a half marathon with #1 and did a triathlon with #2 (closed bike course, no clip-in pedals)...I ran past 40 weeks with both kids, both times with medical permission.

It used to drive me BANANAS when people less activity than I normally do (when not pregnant) would give me grief about it.

I didn't take up running while pregnant, I was a runner who happened to get pregnant.
