wow, DD I'm sorry!
my rant. sore throat, malaise and possibly fever. supposed to have my quartet come over for a rehearsal this morning so I sent them a warning email that I'm sick.none of them seem to care so now I have to shower, get dressed, and rehearse some hard modern music.
oh, and our friends are having a dinner party tomorrow night. I totally malingered for their last one so now that I really AM feeling shitty I feel like I have to go.
I'm a horrible person.

Not moving to another country or moving to a place that doesn't allow pets (though that's still questionable b/c you can almost always find housing that will accept animals), just... moving. It boggles the mind. Take your damn dog with you jackass!!
I don't get the whole "dispose-a-pet" mentality, and I've had to pay many fees to find places over the years that took my huge fluffy dog/kitteh.

I could probably start an entire thread on this but I've been absolutely appalled at the number of people that have asked us if we're getting rid of our pets now that we're having a baby. Ummmm.... WTF?? Our animals were not adopted as baby placeholders! I really don't get people. The craziest so far was DH's aunt who is convinced that cats kill babies by licking the milk off their mouths and suffocating them. She insists this nearly happened to DH when he was a baby because "one time we put him down at his great aunt's house after eating and when we came back in the room her mean cat was walking towards the crib." ... So basically the story you just told me was DH was once in the same room as a cat. Yeah sounds super dangerous. I told her we were keeping the cats and she said "well okaaaaay, but just so you're aware of the danger."

I was all prepared to get angry at the people who surrendered our newest kitty to the shelter. They moved, but they moved back to Australia and the fee for moving a cat there was 10K per cat. Ouch.
I made a new friend here last spring, and we really clicked. However, her husband accepted a job in another state so they ended up moving a few months later. You can guess what happened to all their pets. (4 cats and I think 2 dogs) Yeah. I haven't bothered to maintain that friendship.

I'm home for a housewarming party for my cousin. So fun until the rest of the guests left. Now it's just me and everyone else here are all couples. And my cousins and this group of friends are clearly close. I'm left out of ever laugh and every memory. Alone. I hate that we had to move. Fucking hate it.

Hubby seems to be confused about this whole vacation thing, that break from work does not also equal break from fatherhood. Also, this stupid trip was his idea, so he needs to get used to the idea that traveling with a baby isn't easy, and it's hard for her to sit in the car and sleep in a new environment.Allison - professor; wife to a urology attending; mom to baby girl E (11/13), baby boy C (2/16), and a spoiled cat; knitter and hoarder of yarn; photographer
