Interesting. I like in the abstract that they talk about integrating what they learned into the curriculum.

Is it really true that physician relationships tend to be more resilient to divorce and last longer than those in the general population?

      Thanks for posting.

I like how they found themes:
      1. We rely on mutual support in our relationships
      2. We recognize the important roles of each family member
      3. We have shared values
      4. We acknowledge the benefits of being a physician to our relationships

A good guide to focus on now that we are in the beginning of the journey. I'm trying to think of it as if we make it through med school, we can make it though anything. So even though it's work, you gain confidence from it that others don't have.

Once I adopted that mindset, it became so much lighter to bear at times. Sometimes it's even fun to reflect on where we'll be in 10 years when we're looking back on all we've been through...chances are we'll have endured some unique challenges that many couples haven't and that feels uniquely intimate and special. Plus, I also have to remind myself that if I have friends and family members who can survive year-long (sometimes longer) deployments, I can survive this. At least I have proximity to my spouse. For the most part!
