Great work! Too bad about Napa, but you have your career to think about.

Ask for the earliest interview time possible, and change your flight to a little later, if you can!

Coming from somebody who would move heaven and earth just to have somebody actually interview her once, you're making the right call.

Sandy, I thought about that too - the earliest time they gave me was noon...and I don't know if it's worth the extra couple hundred $ to not get out there until late evening then have to find my way from SFO to Napa...I'm going to talk about the options with DH tonight but the logistics of it look like they might be more trouble and more expense than they are worth at this point.

While I'm sad, I did have the thought that if I get this job, the sweet bump in pay would make it a LOT easier for DH and I get take a trip (or a couple long weekend trips) over Christmas break and during 4th year. I'm feeling super optimistic right now, I feel like I kinda sorta succeeded at something. I hope hope hope it works out - but the second round opportunity makes me feel like I'm finally at least valuable on a surface level for jobs that are different than what I'm doing now (I feel like that sounds vague and might not make sense but...maybe you catch my drift).

Congrats on the second interview! It sounds like you're making the smart decision on Napa, too.
