^^ I actually hadn't updated here or elsewhere. After the interview on Friday I came home, packed, waited for DH to finish his shelf, then we went to the beach for the weekend.

How did it go...hmm. I felt really conflicted after I left. It was a very intense interview - at least more intense than one's I'd had before. They asked me a long set of questions and some of them were pretty abstract and threw me off. I was worried about how I answered them. However, I did answer what I would consider to be one of the most important questions (i.e. asking me something along the lines of how I'd perform a certain job duty and it was something I had been brainstorming all week) with a really concrete and innovative answer. They seemed really impressed with the creative suggestions I gave and how thoroughly I'd thought that aspect through, and said I had some great ideas they hadn't thought of. I hope that weighted more than some of the questions I stumbled through. I wasn't expecting to be caught off guard by abstract questions, and when I was it definitely threw me for a loop.

They said I'd hear something this week, so I just have to hope that the other person (or people) they interviewed for a second time answered the questions worse than me. Like my dad said when I told him I was worried: "Don't worry, I know you did great. Plus, you have to remember - most people are idiots." Here's hoping it's me up against a couple idiots!

On the bright (?) side - my horoscope says good things are coming for me in the next few days - something challenging and new, so maybe there's stock in that. Who knows, I'm so nervous about the whole thing I've resorted to reading (and believing in!) my horoscope.

They said I should hear something this week - whether it's an offer or if they decide to do a quick third round for candidates to meet the chair of the department (I assume). Or, the third option: that I didn't get it.

^^ my thoughts exactly. And because I haven't heard anything today, I'm thinking they are just going to go ahead with an offer. Because HR needs about 1 - 2 days to approve a new hire and that would mean I wouldn't hear yay or nay until tomorrow at the earliest, likely Thursday or Friday about whether I get the offer or they are passing. I figured they'd contact me today if they needed me to come in yet again so they could schedule it ASAP. Who knows though!

Welp, third round it is. I really don't know what to make of this. It's not like I am a faculty candidate interviewing for a highly visible position. I don't know what to think about that. I guess it's good to still be in the running, but this is more stressful and drawn out than I'd expected.

Third round is GREAT because it means you're one step closer!!! Even if it means you have to interview again, UGH. Here's hoping it means you're the final candidate and they just want confirmation from the department head.

Apparently this third round includes an "department tour" which my (now former) boss said was a good sign. Fingers still crossed. They are getting cramped!

Thanks everyone!! REALLY hoping this is a good sign. One of the people I'll see on Tuesday is the department administrator (and, presumably, the person in charge of HR) so...??? COME ON HOROSCOPE, BE RIGHT!!
