  • Today...

I don't remember where the other thread went, so I thought we could use a fresh one anyways.

Today, I washed a LOT of clothes, sorted through summer stuff, got the school clothes sorted out. We're in that awkward stage of not being ready to put summer clothing into storage, but having to get out fall stuff too.

DH is on overnight call and will be doing his administrative schtick all day tomorrow, so it's just me and the kids for now.

I also bought "light chocolate brown" hair color to cover the blonde. Blonde doesn't look good on me in my 40s.

Today I realized just how big my 10 month old is when we were at the playground and he was taller than some of the toddlers.

I was completely shocked by this! I still think your kids are in 3rd and 6th. Stop the madness!!! All our kiddos are growing up to fast!

          Hope their days went great!

Seriously, in my mind, she's still the little girl who got lost at the zoo.

Today was our last day at the cabin. We slept in until almost noon, went swimming for 3 hours and then cleaned up and headed home.

I just made it through the door with 4 kids. Thomas is 2 hours behind me with Amanda.

Today...I am exhausted. I worked 12 hours yesterday (my shift is 8 hours), then got an hour of sleep before my pager woke me and took me back to work. Got back to bed by 3am but didn't sleep well because the doc told us to be ready for another call in if the patient wasn't doing well. Got up at 5:30 and went back to work.

All afternoon I have been grocery shopping, prepping, and cooking because my husband's coresidents are coming over tomorrow evening. Now it's 11 and I'm cleaning. He's on 24 hour call and won't be able to take kiddo to camp in the morning, and I can't get to work on time if I have to do it. And the house is a mess. I started cleaning, but I just can't focus.

Today, I couponed/price matched two cart loads of groceries with a screaming baby in my arms. Saved over $100. I was really grateful to other shoppers who took pity on me and helped me get the groceries to my car.

Today, I took three kids -- two of whom cannot swim -- to a birthday party, at a public pool, on my own, in 101 degree heat. Thank goodness they listened when I said it was time to go after an hour. Really proud of the boys for not pitching a fit.

Today, I prepared 13 freezer meals and 3 trays of brownies. Tomorrow, I'm delivering several of the meals and all of the brownies to three friends of mine who had babies in the last couple weeks.

Today, we adopted a new cat. He's about 4 yo, grey, and fluffy. I had ZERO intentions of ever getting another cat as losing my Ted was too painful, but the kids and I were doing our usual bimonthly SPCA visit and this kitty demanded to be mine. He's a surrender; his family moved back to Australia and it's apparently 10k to bring a cat into the country. So they had to leave him behind.
