    Good article. I don't like that he went to readmission rates and patient satisfaction scores as a possible solution, but I guess that's inevitable, unfortunately. His best point was the overall idea that it benefits patients and doctors when doctors have more time to spend with each patient and less billing/paperwork concerns. I think most doctors truly care about the patients they are treating, so it's more a matter of getting the bureaucracy out of their way so they can do what they want and need to do to provide better care.

      i don't think any of his suggestion are of any use. sure you can empower the patients by giving them surveys but it's useless. a good outcome doesn't necessary mean a good doctor--or the other way around. if anything, there should be a peer review like lawyers. also, if you get rid of the insurance companies and offer a good faith estimate of price--that'll solve most of the complaints --EXCEPT for the elder/sick patients who use most of the services and $$.
