MIL's thrift stores finds are just junk that nobody wants. Like baby high heels, or an ugly chenille changing pad cover that doesn't match the nursery, or a Dooney & Burke purse that was maybe in fashion 20 years ago.

I have a great aunt that goes shopping in her spare bedroom from the items she has bought at Bloomingdales on clearance over the years. For our wedding we got some mismatched silver spoons.

However, for my birthday this year she sent me a box of Ferraro Rocher. Not even expired! (We've had to check on other food gifts that were sent) I was floored!

My husband gave me a big screen tv for our bedroom!!!! ( Me... yeah right. I don't watch tv.) And it is totally stupid. We had my little one from college days in there. The only thing watched on it is the news in the morning while he does his sit ups and push ups and gets ready. That is it. Other than that, the tv is never used unless a kid wants to watch sports while we are watching a movie, which happens maybe 4 times a year. There is another tv in the living room, but the one in the bedroom is nicer and then the one in the playroom with the DVD player. My boys still give my husband a hard time...yeah mom really wanted that tv, didn't she... He also gave me a German set of knives.... VERY bad gift and I think HE was the one that wanted it. I've cut myself on those several times, many times requiring a butterfly bandage. Sharp knives and I do not get along. Naturally hubby loves them....
