Can I blame Cassy? I saw it and thought it was beautiful, actually. . I feel like there is something wrong with me. My next door neighbor (70) publicly admonished me and told me it was inappropriate for FB. I feel so embarrassed now.

Was I really off to repost this?

I think the photographer pushed the boundaries. If my kid walked in while reading my FB feed I would feel uncomfortable. If they had all been "hawt" women posed that way would we view it as sexist and stereotypical? I think the artist was bringing that issue to mind, but I also got a mixed mood of victory and freedom when we're still photographing and framing women in the context of their bodies. I'm a huge image person and I hear the artist, but I still think women (people!) are more than their bodies. Period. Double period.

I'm sort of afraid to check and see that she's unfriended me or something.

I saw it posted. You had to click on it though. So it's not like boobs were just on a feed.

Eh, not offended in the least but I'm also not impressed with the authors take on body image. I find it whiney. If I see chunky naked women who have had six children does that make me feel better about my body? Nope, I have a hell of a lot more confidence than that. Is the message, you're fat and others are too, yay!!! That's stupid. I'm awesome fat or thin. I don't need a bunch of women getting naked to feel good about myself and other women shouldn't either.

I like it, but then I also like http://theshapeofamother.com/. And I'm also in the nudity doesn't bother me camp. Did you post the link with any kind of blurb saying "EVERYBODY HAS TO LOOK AT THIS NOW," or did a nekkid picture end up as the thumbnail for all to see or something?

Ladybug, if you look, some of the women in the project do have conventionally beautiful and/or young bodies. And I didn't really see them being objectified any more than any model is objectified...their expressions and poses were the point, and the nekkidness underscored the shapes and lines that made them unique as models, IMO. It's not like the artist thinks there's some sort of "cloak of unattractiveness" that makes their nudity unoffensive? Frankly every woman on there is beautiful and alluring, seriously, and that is just so awesome and sexy.

Yeah. A lot of this. Regardless of the model's body type, the pictures are NSFW. I didn't want my kids to see them.

But why are they all naked? Where are the naked men? It's a gender issue no matter which way you swing the pendulum. That's my point.
