DH forgot to pay the electric bill and we got a disconnection notice. I asked him a few days ago if he paid it :/
This is why I had to take over paying all of our bills. I once found a bill still sealed in the envelope in the middle of the hallway floor weeks overdue (when I was working in a different city). That was the end of my rope for him "paying" bills.
Wait, your DH pays bills? If left to mine, we'd be homeless.

My rave: My SIL used to be a help with making a dinner or two a week and I've successfully planned dinner for every weeknight this week by planning and cooking the night before and managing our leftovers. I feel so accomplished (which is ridic I know).
Married to a Urology Attending! (that is an understated exclamation point)
Mama to C (Jan 2012), D (Nov 2013), and R (April 2016). Consulting and homeschooling are my day jobs.

No way. I think that's a great accomplishment! I used to spend my entire Sunday doing meal prep for the week, which would include leftover integration into the next night's dinner. It took all day, but it felt amazing to know that all my chopping, and any possible (non slow cooker) pre-cooking was done. After the huge Sunday mess I always only had like one pot to clean and dinner prep plus clean up was like a 15min affair.
I think it's deserving of the accomplished feeling.
My confession for the day: I should probably just buy stock in Carter's. I love shopping for baby clothes. They are all coming from discount stores, but... This is going to be a well dressed kid. Saving $ to drop on car seats is a lot less fun.
Wife of PGY-4 (of 6), cat herder, and mom to a sassy-pants four-nager.

This is why I never found out the sex of the baby...people are more likely to gift you gender-neutral useful stuff if they can't buy adorable gendered baby clothes.

5:50am- DH was called in for an emgergent delivery and NICU admission. This is what he found. Oh and the spare is flat too! A tow is required. The kicker is that DH just had his tires fixed a week ago, including the spare. I will spend my free morning while DD is at school getting it fixed.
That really sucks! Are you getting them fixed or do you have to buy new ones? Sorry you lost your kid-free time too.

Major suckage there. Would auto-pay, electronic reminders or any combination of the two help remind him for next time?
Rant: I am tired of being dumped on at work. The whole point of gearing down for maternity leave is that people need to stop asking me to do shit. Especially fact checking other people's work on short notice - go back to the original creator of the work!!!
Rave: DH went for a run in the city and sent me pictures of where he proposed. And a whole slew of cute texts. Can't wait to take our daughter there one day.

I just went in and changed the account to my name. The idea was that he would still be somewhat responsible for SOMETHING financially related but F that I guess. If it dinged our credit I will be pissed. I always remind him to pay it but he won't do it right then and then forgets so I might as well do it myself.
Married to a newly minted Pediatric Rad, momma to a sweet girl and a bunch of (mostly) cute boy monsters.

Rave: Today was the first day of mommy-and-me soccer class with DS1 (24 mos), and it was so much fun. Seeing all these toddlers running around the indoor soccer field is so freaking cute. I wore BabyT in the mei tai and he slept the whole time. Total success!

Validation! I ran into a mom whose dd is in kindergarten when dd5 started this year. She mentioned she hadn't seen us so I explained that I pulled her out to do part homeschool/Montessori. She said that we made a good choice because her dd is exhausted after the full 7 hour day and then is in tears because they have more than an hour of homework every night.
It is soooo much easier to navigate the schooling system now that I'm older. Yay for just knowing what your child needs and going for it vs over analyzing and stressing
