  • September 19th News Thread

"Just For Today" megathread. Post little announcements, petty rants, small victories, and superficial confessions here for one day only. But please please please consider opening new threads too. We nosy chickens want to read all the details and talk everything over ad nauseum too.

Well, I'll start off with the biggest piece of news for the day. Today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day!

Rant: Woke up before 5 am with a nosebleed. My sinuses are hating on something again. Annoyed that my DH job change last year means I have to find all new docs, and I need a Flonase prescription, so I need to find them now.

Rave: Getting up early means hot breakfast and a fire in the wood stove for everyone on one of our first chilly fall mornings.

Hubby switched cars with me today so he could take mine in for its oil change! And he did laundry yesterday. Not the greatest accomplishments for someone with no other responsibilities on vacation, but I guess I'll take it.

We are having family pictures done this week for our 5th anniversary (in two weeks). I love our photographer and she's always gotten great stuff, I just really, really, really hope the kids cooperate for even 20 minutes. The big one is such a horrible stinker right now, I'm going to be so pissed if she acts out. Although I suppose if she does, I can always just get cute ones of the little one with mama and daddy.

I woke up sick for the 4th day in a row. My house looks like a student dorm and needs desperate attention. I was gone wed. and carted kids thurs. The locusts took over. I just don't feel well. I have a fever, sore throat, and icky mucousy cough. Still, I'll have to clean up. And study. Boohoo.

                Linda Yellow Leg here

BabyJ has something, I don't know what, that is making him miserable. Constant runny stuffy nose so he can't eat easily and keeps waking up screaming. But no fever. I'm over it.

N is addicted to the Strawberry Shortcake show and I'm over that too

Positive: fit in a new suit that I bought before Minnie was born (unemployed) but haven't fit into until recently (baby weight)

Negative: I got nail polish or lipstick on it.

It's chaos around here because our department is moving floors and it's setting in that I'm leaving and there's uproar about making sure x, y, and z are done. But you know what? I'm just like:

Today is good day (so far).

The weather is amazing. Please stay like this forever!!!

I'm also getting a massage today and almost don't want to go because I just want to be outside!!! (Not a bad problem to have!).

Meanwhile, I need to get my act together for our vacation. It's a week away and there is still a ton to plan, and I'm not sure I have anything to wear. Plus I need a hair cut and all that stuff (eyebrows, manicure). no appointments yet. Blah. Thank god I've graduated to PT only once a week. Between that and the RE, I feel like I've done nothing but go to the doctor for the last few weeks.

I'm on day 4 with 45 min to an hour of sleep per night. 😔
Ds woke at 3am with the poops and pukes.
Took my car in first thing this am as I have a warped rotor. My mechanic says I have a warranty.
I need snow tires for 22"...BIG!
Love my mechanic who gives me his price and saved me $80/tire.
I stared prednisone today. I got up and it was 35* out. Buurrrr
I'm back in bed. I'm tired.
That's my mix of raves and rants.
