"Just For Today" megathread. Post little announcements, petty rants, small victories, and superficial confessions here for one day only. But please please please consider opening new threads too. We nosy chickens want to read all the details and talk everything over ad nauseum too.

I'm sick. Sore throat, headache, ear hurts. DH was on call and up ALL night. Just now on his way home at 9 am, which means I don't get to be sick, have to take the kids to their football game because he's post call and exhausted. Boo. But, he still has a 0 % c-section rate at his new job! So much for that theory of OB's calling c-sections to go home early.

Just woke up at 8:30 AM. Baby was up twice but at least she let me sleep in since I couldn't fall asleep until midnight.

Considering a labial frenectomy for DS2 -- laser, cauterizing, local anesthetic.
Feeling guilty about it, and trying to weigh pros and cons.

I totaled around 4 hours of sleep last night, and am wondering why people electively choose to forego sleep. I love sleep.

Stuffy, headache, aches, and knocked up. Did I mention winey? Because that's definitely happening too. Acetaminophen does shit. To make matters worse I was supposed to go to DC for a wedding.

For his upper lip? Is it affecting his latch?

Both of mine had frenectomies. DD2 was still hard to nurse (very shallow latch) but it was better. No anesthesia. Just clip and then straight to the breast, very minimal crying.

If it is adversely effecting his latch, I would strongly consider it especially as it will make nursing more viable for the long haul,

Procedure is scheduled! if this doesn't "fix" it though, I am going to be worried.

fuck. Ive been sitting around waiting to go to an 11:30 yoga class. Right as I was out the door I thought to check exactly where my 2:00 gig is to make sure I can be there on time. I've been pretty scatter brained lately. Yea, definitely told to be there an entire hour early. Which means no yoga for me today and I've waisted the whole morning waiting to go.

We are watching SIL today while the ILs go to a wedding. They were supposed to come for 430. Except FIL has a slight cold and SIL gets enraged by his coughing, so he couldn't take it anymore and decided to come to our house 1.5 hours early. And then MIL and SIL came a half hour after that. DH got up at 3pm, and as a result of their early arrival, I had no alone, awake time with him today. The Disney Channel crap has already started and she decided to tap on the TV for some reason. Which lead to me yelling at her and I'm sure DH will be pissed when he comes back from his short run. It's gonna be a long 7 hours, 4 of which DH will be back at work. Maybe at least I will get a Frozen viewing out of this deal??

My mini rave: I have made a TON of friends the last four months. I don't know why it was taking so long. I think the not having kids here thing was a big hang up, and then I was so depressed with the long winter, but at just about the one year mark, the flood gates really opened. To the point where I am literally ducking social invites left and right and having a really difficult time with our social calendar. I honestly haven't felt this way since before we moved for fellowship.

It feels nice (although I must admit I was really getting used to only two or so "social" engagements a month. And I had really settled in to just quite nights in while DH was on call).
