  • Living with the Dr.

We talked about this previously, but Dr sense of time is driving me nuts! Funny enough, I am not angry, just amused at how it isn't even bothering me that much.

DH tells me Monday that he should have a light day wed and will probably home early afternoon. My take on this... it will probably be by dinner time. Then he txts me at 4:30 that he should done be fairly soon. I take this as, yup, dinner time. Then at 6:30 he tells me he is editing a video for a conference entry and that he will be home shortly. Editing takes 10 times longer than you think it will. I don't think he is going to be home before 8pm. Seriously if he had told me at 4 he was editing I would have known not to expect him home. Honestly I need to remember my rule that unless he is actually in the car driving home, not to listen to him say "I'll be home shortly."

Really I just feel bad for him because he hasn't seen the baby in two days since he didn't get home until 8:30 last night.

I'm sorry, for both of you. Those are long days as a mom, too. Hugs.

I'm sorry I would have been upset he hadn't told me sooner.

I get it. The doctor time vortex is legit. They really just can't do it. It's like it's the first part of the brain to die when shoving all that other knowledge in there.

Mine used to call me and tell me he was in the car. He was usually just finishing up charts when he'd say that. Even the kids know "dawkter time"
          15 min is an hour.

I call that phrase "famous last words."

Example from yesterday: "I'm leaving right now."
Two hours later, he arrived. His clinic is 8 minutes away.

my husband is actually pretty efficient with his time and correct when he knows how long it will take for him to get out. Unless of course something happens in the interim. when he is at work he has very focused. I rarely hear from him during the day unless my daughter wants to face time him after school.
