    there is an overpopulation of skunks in Newburgh. It is giving me flashbacks to our days in Cleveland Heights Ohio.

      Oh, hell yes. The heights has WAY too many of the smelly things, for sure. Ugh. I think I posted here when one got into our recycling (cans and bottles and such); I was terrified of setting it off. Luckily, it wandered off instead of freaking out, when I opened the door, and I was able to gather the recycling back up and put it in a big open tote, and we haven't had critter problems since. Never want to be that close to a skunk again. It's bad enough driving past where one sprayed, or having one spray somewhere else in the neighborhood (been woken up out of a deep sleep by the smell at least twice).
