"Just For Today" megathread. Post little announcements, petty rants, small victories, and superficial confessions here for one day only. But please please please consider opening new threads too. We nosy chickens want to read all the details and talk everything over ad nauseum too.

Coughing. And being exhausted. And coughing. They can go to hell. Oh, and alarm clocks.

So tired this morning and K1 woke up on the wrong side of the bed. He's storming around, slamming doors, whining, and he wet the bed. Poor kid. I don't think that there is ever a good morning for that but today definitely is not it.

Taking DS1 &DS2 to breastfeeding "class" this morning -- we'll see how well DS1 behaves.
I loved my weekly support group when DS1 was a baby, and I'm hoping to find something similar here.

(Additionally: Is it wrong that I actually am more concerned about how some mothers might receive a preschool boy "watching" them nurse, than how said boy will act?)

My mom goes home today. Our relationship has come so far over the past couple of years. Everyone is tired though and starting to slip into old dysfunctional habits of communication. I'm looking forward to having the house to myself again. I hate that our family lives so far apart. I wish we could just have dinner and then everyone go back to their houses.

I'm a terrible sleeper lately. Woke up at 5 and couldn't get back to sleep, so I got up at 6. That might be normal for many of you, but I am not a morning person, I work at home and stay up til midnight and my alarm usually goes off at 7:30!! So tired.

Also, realizing that I really need a haircut but I don't want to go back to the stylist I've been seeing because she always messes up my bangs. Less than a year left in town, so I don't want to put in the effort to find a new stylist. I have a problem with stylist monogamy, I really don't like the commitment. Seriously considering a cheap trim at the mall. Probably shouldn't make haircut decisions while tired.

Excellent ALOY! I just missed a getting a pic of N with a maxi pad stuck on her forehead a few months ago.

This was us at midnight last night. I wish the child would sleep

We had a good evening, but then she woke up at 1:30 and wouldn't go back down, so I nursed her for a bit and finally got her back to sleep. She woke up again at 4:30, so I nursed her and tried to put her back in the swing, and she had a fit. She pretty much stayed in bed with me and nursed off and on until about 6 or so, when she finally fell asleep. My alarm goes off at 6:30, but I stayed in bed with her until about 7 before I finally had to get up, and when I tried to move her, she woke up and stayed up. Trying to get ready with her awake is the worst. She didn't even want my phone this morning, so I let her play in the cabinet, and this was the result.

I'm bummed because this past weekend was incredibly warm and beautiful. Thomas and I went to Cranfest outside for two day and spent a lot of time walking and enjoying the weather in t-shirts. Today the weather turned and it's cold and gray. Boo.

Came home to a giant water leak coming from the upstairs apartment. Water stains on the living room ceiling, laundry room ceiling, running down the wall, carpets soaked. Got the carpet guy out to extract the water from carpets and have fans blowing. Maintenance coming back tomorrow to assess ceilings and wall. Everything is turned totally upside down and out of order. Found a totally soaked bathmat in the guest bath but NO CLUE where the water came from.

To top to off, DH came home in the middle of maintenance's initial assessment and immediately started mouthing off to the guy. I get it - they suck at actually repairing stuff but honestly I really think the WORST way to get people to do stuff for you/want to help you out is to immediately be an asshole. I made a comment in front of them and DH got pissed. I feel bad but also like I have a point. I don't know. It sucks. Everything is disorganized and now I'm freaking out about mold and damp walls.

Oh, and I start my new job tomorrow. My initial plan was to come home early, pick out my outfit, make dinner, take a shower and blowdry my hair, and relax until a nice early bed time. Yeah, nones that happened. I'm just over everything. Aside from the water leak and all my shit being moved around or taken off the walls, I realized how over being the "doer" I am. I want to come home one day and have my laundry done, groceries shopped for, dinner made, house vacuumed for me.

I just feel really low and lonely and stressed right now. I wanted to be relaxed and excited for tomorrow.
