It's October. Who is wearing a costume? Dressing up their kids? Decorating the house? Eating way too much candy? What are your plans?

There are a lot of families on our new cul-de-sac. We're super psyched about Halloween. We've started putting out decorations. DH loves Halloween. DD10 is going to be maleficent. We wrapped a staff (stick) in black duct tape and attached black butterflies from home goods. Haven't figured out how to do the horns yet. Dd8 has a mardi gras type cat mask and black leotard. She's putting long nails onto gloves. Dd5 keeps changing her mind-Elsa vs fox. Ds4 will be jake the pirate.

I'm thinking of doing something fun for walking around. I like makeup. I was going to use the black butterflies on my arms and face until dd snatched them for her staff. Colored contacts would be fun but not sure I can put them in my eyes. I'll come up with something fun that goes with jeans and boots. Don't want to scare our new neighbors....yet.

I don't dress up. No one gives out candy on our neighborhood so I will most likely avoid the massive candy temptation somewhat. It's destination trick or treating here. O is going to be a surgeon, unless he changes his mind. He's got a surgical mask, hat and scrubs. We will head to a nearby neighborhood for trick or treating.

Dd will be a pirate queen and is looking forward to handing out candy. She wants her brother to be a monkey or a parrot.

Except for Dec, this is MY MONTH. I love it.

N is going to be a "Dancing Princess" for Halloween. She's been talking about Halloween since July. BabyJ is going to be a pumpkin, per 1st Halloween family tradition.

We've got something planned almost every weekend!

This weekend we are making homemade applesauce and going to a kids fun day at a local garden center with my mom and sister. Then we are going up to my parents new house (they just moved in and it is gorgeous) to watch the OU game and make some fall food. And maybe sit in the hot tub

Next weekend is OU/TX weekend. It's pretty much a holiday for my family. I host a watch party every year, but we are doing it at my parent's house this year. My brother is coming home from OU with a bunch of his buddies. We'll make chili and a ton of other food and then go to a pumpkin patch after the game. Then we roast marshmallows in the firepit in the woods in the backyard

The next weekend we go to the Dallas Arboretum for their fall festival. It's amazing. They build a whole village out of pumpkins. My parents, sister, and sister-in-law are coming with us. I think we have a birthday party that weekend too

I think I have to work the 2nd to last weekend in October, but DH's birthday is the week before, so I plan to sneak away from work one day and go golfing with him on his day off.

And for Halloween, I'm officially taking that day off work and hosting a toddler costume party. It will essentially be a glorified playdate, but I think it will be super fun.

I'd like to dress up this year, but I need to keep it simple and need to look for ideas.

Ugh ST can I just move in with you guys for the month?!?

We always say we're going to do something then never do. Occasionally I decorate the house but since it's just me and DH and DH doesnt' really care about holidays and no one ever comes to visit this time of year really I'm just decorating for myself and I get too frugal and practical and never go all out like I want to. I'm already looking forward to Halloween next year when we'll have a 6ish month old and I'll finally feel like I have an excuse to go a little crazy.

I already decorated the house earlier this week. We're planning on going to a pumpkin patch at sone point this month, and we'll carve pumpkins this year for the first time. DS1 is dressing up as a giraffe. This will be his second year trick or treating, but last year we only went to two houses so I'm not sure if that even counts. We've been practicing saying trick or treat and taking one piece of candy out of the bow (versus a huge handful). Luckily we've got a whole month to practice.

I just spent $19 on a boy's spiderman hoodie *for me* to wear on Halloween in keeping with the family superhero theme. K1 and DrK are both batman, K2 is the Hulk, Lambie is supergirl. I'm sort of irritated that target doesn't have any wonder woman t shirts and I know I will never wear the spiderman hoodie again. Should I return it? Also, should I persuade DrK to be superman instead so he and K1 are not the same? Should I just drop it from my list of things to stress about?

Dd5 will be Elsa and dd2 is Anna. They are super cute and thrilled with their costumes. DD12 wants to be a teletubbie, lol. I haven't decided what I'm going to be this year. Dh and I will do some type of couple costume since he asked the other day, "so what are you and I going to dress up as" The boys won't dress up but they are in charge of passing our candy. Our neighborhood kind of rocks Halloween so we're excited

Dd1 is going to be a cat, Dd2 a mouse. I was able to buy the mouse costume but I have to make the cat bc C wants to be a very specific neighbor cat and the internet has no such costume.

So, I'm back from Target and Michaels and I'll be doing the tutu for her costume today. Then I need to order the leotard/black tights I'll need.

I bought a halloween scarf. That's about it. I do dress up every year as a witch. I was thinking of not doing it, but zoe and her friends are already talking about my witch's nose.
I will be buying kids' costumed.

Minnie is being a kitty. Her only request was that she "needed a costume!"

We are going to a free outdoor event tonight but I can't imagine we will last long, it only 40 degrees out. We'll do the zoo thing in two weeks and then trick or treating with friends because no one comes to our neighborhood.

Last week we had a blast at a floral shop that had food, pumpkins, decor, a fire truck, kids train and pony rides! Glad we had nice weather for that!
