"Just For Today" megathread. Post little announcements, petty rants, small victories, and superficial confessions here for one day only. But please please please consider opening new threads too. We nosy chickens want to read all the details and talk everything over ad nauseum too.

Back to back day business trips. I bet I get stuck in Chicago tonight and then have to decide how to handle the Boston trip.

Also, bad storms so my flying anxiety is off the chain. I'm shaking and we haven't even fully boarded yet.

Omg. You fly all the time, so they must be bad. Thinking of you.

Up at 5:45 to try to make it to my class on time. Instead of leaving at 6:30, I'm sitting here with a cup of coffee. I can't seem to move off of the sofa.

I fly all the time. It doesn't mean they're especially bad, it means I do what I have to do. Which is fly.

It was rough but I've been on worse. I shook the whole flight and thought I might be sick once (anxiety not motion sickness) but held it together.

Not lookin forward to 3 more flights in the next 36 hours. Tempted to bail and head straight to Boston tonight but I think DH would die (he had a horrific call weekend and is on again tonight so nanny would have to overnight).

Pissed that we were all expected to contribute $10 towards a bday gift for the nut. We were not asked how much we could or wanted to give, only asked to pony up $10. If you tried to fight it, the nut's assistant laid on a guilt trip about how she was paying for this out of her own pocket. We make peanuts here, and $10 x 13 = apparently gets the nut a GC for a massage. Wtf? Nobody is spending that much on my bday gift here, and it is certainly an expectation I have never had. My assistant retired last week and got a pizza party. This place is messed up.

Sitting on the Tarmac in Chicago. Pilot just said it's going to be a rough flight and we haven't even taken off yet. I'm dying you guys, I hate flying. I'm so scared.

T&S I'm right there with you. I went through Fear of Flying counseling with the SOAR program online. What he'd tell you - and what I'd remind myself - is that planes fly through hurricanes ok. They are made for tremendous stresses. Going through turbulent air is like driving down a bumpy road. You might get tossed up and down, but you are perfectly safe. I'm so sorry the flights are rough today. You will be fine though. Think about your babies, the oxytocin triggered is calming. It really is. Thinking about nursing in particular brings that feeling.
