"Just For Today" megathread. Post little announcements, petty rants, small victories, and superficial confessions here for one day only. But please please please consider opening new threads too. We nosy chickens want to read all the details and talk everything over ad nauseum too.

Have to go on a pumpkin patch field trip today with dd's class. It was rescheduled due to weather which really sucked bc DH worked 3 call shifts to get the originally scheduled day off. He's bummed and so is dd.

That sucks. I hate when I get the kid's hopes up and then it doesn't pan out.

When an invitation is addressed to "S & D" AND my RSVP reminder says "Hope to see you and your spouse", that means that your grown children are not invited :/

We were invited to DH's cousins wedding in Chicago. The ceremony and reception are adults only. I completely understand why people would want adults only however it is a huge inconvenience to our family since it's out-of-state and we have no one to watch our kids. Therefore we're not going

I have been in the car driving kids around for the past three hours. I would like to spend some time at home

I technically didn't invite kids, but we provided babysitters for people in your situation - and the kids did come in to dance at the reception and for dessert.

Is it at a hotel or something where you can ask them about doing something like that?

This is just for my mom's birthday party, and all of my family lives within 30 minutes of each other. And this cousin's kids are like 20 and 17. We (DH and I) are hosting this, and it's enough to pay for nearly 40 people without an additional 20 people (all my cousins' kids) (it's at a restaurant).

I had a cousin get married - same thing, Phoebe - didn't go either However, DH's college roommate got married in August and we had our close friends watch the girls while we were at the wedding. We didn't invite kids under 2, but did what JDAZ did. If you were interested in going still, text me and I can hook you up with someone to watch the girls!
