DS2 has whatever DS1 had for about 2 weeks: something in the sniffles family.
Taking him in today, just to be safe (DH doesn't mess around when the kids have sx).

IM Shelf today which translates to: I GET MY HUSBAND BACK!! At least through the end of the year. 4 weeks of research/normal hours, then two of psych (which means no shelf until the new academic year and the final 2 weeks so he won't be studying much and better/normal hours) then 3 weeks of holiday break. Omg yesssss. I'm so happy to reconnect but I am HAPPIER to have someone to split the errands with, keep me company, take the dog out/feed him, etc.

Wahoo!!! We bought our tickets to Mexico this morning!!! We've gone back and forth so much on the subject I'd stopped counting on it happening. Now that the tickets & Lonely Planet are purchased he's getting REALLY excited. One week in the Yucatan peninsula mid January!!

Today's my day off. I think I'm meeting a friend from lunch (the one who randomly moved from FL to WI like us!), then hair appointment, museum date with one of my student's moms, then some guests over this evening to carve pumpkins. Fun but busy day.

I know I say this every week, but 3 day weekends are the best.

I'm neck-deep in Pinterest for DS's ninja party that starts in...three hours. Derp. All it's showing me is how much my kid's party is comparatively going to suck, LOL. (Actually he's going to have a blast, and he's only invited five kids and only two have RSVP'd so it'd be stupid to go all-out buying and preparing elaborate decorations and party games.)

This is probably nonsense to the non-nerds out there, but I just need to vent...

I have a server at work that I use for a lot of my research - I keep data in a some databases on there, and I write scripts to process data. They wanted to move me over to a new, faster, more secure server a while back (June/July), so I said great. I don't know why they couldn't just set it up using the same settings my old server had. I feel like every week I have to e-mail the guys asking for things - can you give me access to this folder, can you install this, can you increase the max upload size, can you turn error displays on, can you install that, this isn't working, can you change those settings, can I have access to those files... This is ridiculous, and it's a waste of all of our time.

When we went Togo to the Brazilian steakhouse on DHs bday it was closed so we went today with the kids. N loves these places and she is free. That plate was full and she is eating smoked salmon in this pic.

Hahaha on you restaurant! Kids eat free!
