  • Training for a 5K, PP

Hey hey! I get clearance to resume working out this week. Knowing my past regimen, is it feasible to consider registering for a 5K around Thanksgiving, or is that too early?
(I am 6 weeks PP this Wednesday).

Our Y pool is being completely overhauled, so I can't go back to swimming laps right now.
    I started walking 2 weeks ago, pushing 60lbs of kids/stroller, 3x a week.
I'll also be easing back into my Fit4Mom routine, if that changes things.

I'd say it is too early if you plan to run the whole thing. Maybe not, though. Do the couch to 5k app!

Don't go into running too fast. I did and it hurt unnecessarily :/

I'd say it's fine as long as you listen to your body. Start and if you feel pains/increased bleeding, etc, you back off. I'm a big "play through the pain" person but not post partum. There is no harm in trying and then backing out if you body doesn't respond well.

I'm living proof that pushing a big heavy stroller is good training...

Go ahead and sign up, but I wouldn't put any pressure on yourself to RUN run it, let alone log a PR or something. Your focus at this stage, IMO, needs to be core strength and pelvic floor rehab. Not worth rushing those.

I totally agree with core and pelvic floor!
Can't wait to get back to it!
