"Just For Today" megathread. Post little announcements, petty rants, small victories, and superficial confessions here for one day only. But please please please consider opening new threads too. We nosy chickens want to read all the details and talk everything over ad nauseum too.

This is the first Monday in weeks I'm not in a terrible mood! We had a fabulous weekend. After I griped about my sister in law she texted us saying she was at a convention in Chicago and wanted to come see us. We haven't seen her for almost a year and a half and it was GREAT. Very much looking forward to having more time with her at Christmas. Yes, I may have been a little heavy handed telling her how happy I am with my professional life but she heard me. We dropped her off back in Chicago yesterday and hit up the big outlet north of town. Both got some slick new threads (to be clear, I got all of my items from Eddie Bauer and he spent twice as much at J Crew ) After getting back yesterday we had a lazy afternoon / evening. I think I'll go to yoga this morning before work. Two of my programs are on fall break so I end before 8pm every night this week! That makes me happy. Also have a faculty meeting with the outreach, which has been my headache job for over a year. The program director and I are finally starting to come to terms with each other and I'm seeing how much I've learned through this process. It's still a headache but I like to know that I'm learning and getting better at dealing with difficult situations. Thursday one of our friends is coming up from the big EM conference to spend a long weekend. We're throwing a big halloween bash. I got a kid sized Yoda outfit from a halloween store but SIL and husband decided that was lame. They came home with butterfly wings and started calling me Marie-posa. I'm OK with that idea so now my yoda mask is hanging above our bedroom door. I guess this was an update for a week. Hope everyone has a good Monday!

Cleaning lady: Did you get Swiffer sheets?
Me: No, it wasn't on the list you left last time, and I didn't know we needed them.

Rave for the morning: E slept in her crib from 7-5, nursed, then slept in the swing from 5:30-7:30.

I loaded the kids into DH's car to take it for an early oil change before their dr appointments - only to discover that he took the keys to work :/ Thankfully, his service is overstaffed and he drove home to bring the keys.

Ugh. It's tough to pump without flanges.. Do I go home and work, or manually express??

I am! I manually expressed a few ounces this morning while I finished up a few things (and because the cleaning ladies were still at the house), and I'm on my way home now.

You can easily substitute paper towels in the swiffer (says cheapy-McGee)!

I'm sure that's what they did, or a regular towel - I don't know, I wasn't home, and I don't use it, I pay them to do it. (I know how terrible that sounds.)
