"Just For Today" megathread. Post little announcements, petty rants, small victories, and superficial confessions here for one day only. But please please please consider opening new threads too. We nosy chickens want to read all the details and talk everything over ad nauseum too.

K1 work me at 2:30 complaining about a nightmare. Lambie woke up at 2:45. Now I'm nursing and thinking about going back to sleep in K1's bed since he's sprawled across mine. *yawn*

And, DrK just came to find me having just noticed that K1 was in bed with him and not me. He was trailing a 4yo shadow. Trying to get everyone back in their own beds before K2 wakes up.

It's "cold" here, and I couldn't be happier!

As expected, K2 was knocking on my door at 5 because he couldn't find his plastic angry birds ring. *yawn *

Thirteen same here! I'm sitting on the back porch freezing my face off while watching the dogs go completely nuts in this cold weather and could not be happier about it. After spending over half the year soaked in sweat this feels absolutely glorious.

It's 36 degrees here. I am not amused.

23* predicted here tomorrow night. I'm sure it will be 5-7* cooler at our house, due to elevation. Yay :/

Just bought a new 55" flat screen tv at Sam's Club with a post-call DH because the one we had in our main living room quit working. A batman snuggie for one son and a pair of leather gloves that allow you to use a touchscreen while wearing them for the other son also snuck their way into the cart. The boys have learned there are advantages to shopping with dad post-call lol!

This is just about how I feel. I missed my usual class this morning and I think it's already too cold to run outside - or maybe it's too gray, either way I feel sluggish and awful today despite going to bed by 11 last night.

We finally took apart and reassembled our bed... The movers of course did it all wrong. Sigh. Wasted afternoon. Now i have to go to a dinner thingy with my kids and dh to dhs "coworker"a house who used to be a boss. I had a super awkward convo with his wife a few years back at dhs chiefs dinner. I'm so introverted and dh is just going to ditch me again as soon as we get there. I hate these things. Sigh.

From Pottery Barn kids. I just read it and realized, "oh God this is what I aspire to" down to the hip sweater for the boy (BabyJ has one) and the boots on the girl (N has riding boots to go with her skinny jeans)

We had a little shower at a restaurant for a friend this evening who is due with her second baby (a sprinkle), mostly just an excuse to get together. The restaurant was really weird about splitting the check and us getting there on time to hold the table (even though we were the only ones there for the first hour or so). Either way, I wanted to leave a nice tip at least on my bill to thank them for mostly taking good care of us. On my way home, I got to thinking that I had probably left half of what I meant to leave (I move the decimal over two places to get 10% then double it, usually, and for some reason I only left the 10%, though it was actually a bit more than that because I had rounded up), so I called back and asked. I felt a little crazy trying to explain why I was calling, but the waitress looked at my check and I was right. It was only $2 extra, but I just didn't want them to think anybody had stiffed them. She hadn't even run it yet, so I just had her add in the extra $2.
