  • T Shirt Quilt

I might see if I can get one made for DH for Christmas. Any idea of how much it would cost or places to use?

They sell them on etsy, prices vary but $200 seems to be ballpark

      T Shirt Quilt

How big? $200 is about right for a throw, $300+ for a queen sized. They are a huge undertaking. You have to apply stabilizer to each shirt, cut everything, piece the top, add batting and backing, quilt and bind. Depending on what you want it used for, I would look for someone who has a long arm quilting machine as opposed to someone who is just going to quilt along the seams. If the quilt gets use, you will get bunching and whatnot of the batting if it's only sewn every 12". HoW's mom did the backing, batting, quilting, and binding on mine - I love it! She does an awesome job!

It also may be too late to have one done for Christmas :/

My mom can do them from the start, but it does increase the cost.

I've been wanting have one made from Lambie's baby clothes but with 3" squares and incorporating all the ruffled bits. HoW, can your mom do that?

Watching this thread closely. I've been wanting to have a few made for myself for awhile, and haven't been able to pull the trigger. Curious to know more about what K's mom can do - does this mean I would have pre-measured and cut the t-shirts? I am so uncrafty and unable to cut on a straight line lol.

One company I've seen is campusquilt.com. They say they will take orders thru 12/1 for Christmas delivery. I know I also recently saw a Groupon or Living Social deal for a different company. But I can't find the email yet - will update if I do locate the info.

This is what my friend is actually making for me in exchange for the pictures of her daughter. I'm so excited!

                  She can do almost anything.

There is a local friend who has a business call Quilting From My Heart and she makes memory quilts, then sends them to my mom for the actual quilting.

                  quiltingfrommyheart.com

If you are not crafty, you can send the shirts and they will do the whole thing, for a charge obviously.

Both are astonishingly anal retentive and their work is amazing.

MrsK, the ruffly bits can be incorporated too.

Houseofwool I'll check into it. Are prices on their website?

I have no idea. But, you should be able to email her. Let Jeannie know that I referred you.
