"Just For Today" megathread. Post little announcements, petty rants, small victories, and superficial confessions here for one day only. But please please please consider opening new threads too. We nosy chickens want to read all the details and talk everything over ad nauseum too.

My 5 year old needs to learn how to pull the covers back up in the middle of the night. She woke me up at 4:30 and I haven't been able to fall asleep again.

These vivid pregnancy dreams are exhausting. I woke up in a supremely foul mood because of my dreams and inability to get any restful sleep through the night. Good thing he's working long call today. (For his own safety)

I'm so smitten with Lambie these days. She's just so cuddly and delicious.

Took a spontaneous trip this weekend to visit my parents and brother & SIL. Mentioned to them that I needed new breaks soon on my car, and Dad and bro were able to change them in about 20 minutes! We just had to buy the parts. It saved us over $300. Yay for handy family!

In a funk all day - typical first world problems, really.
(My weekend is short and I don't get to do what I want to do for fun).

We tried to go couch shopping for the den and it was a bust. I tried to compile a list of sites to see in a nearby city to explore? Bust.
I wanted to clean my gross kitchen? Bust, although DH says he'll do it tonight (major side eye of disbelief).
At least it's overcast and "cold" today, which matches my mood.

I also found a metric ton of homework/info sheets in DS1's backpack, and he brought home the class pet this weekend. That means we had to take a bunch of pictures and will need to send him back on Monday with anecdotal stories and said pictures about what the pet did with us over the weekend.
Translation: busy work for me. Which also cuts into my "doing what I want to do" time.

Blah blah, life unfair, blah blah. I'll shut up now.

Rave: booked DS2's "100 Days" portrait session.

Ran for the first time in months yesterday. So sore. Friend is having a birthday gathering at a cocktail lounge I liked until it made a top bar in the country list and now I just think it's pretentious and overdone. Plus who wants to go out on a Sunday night? But I skipped last year feigning illness so can't this year. Asking for a ride would lessen my dread but then I'd have to stay the entire time. I'm such a shitty friend.

Took the kids to see Big Hero 6. Great flick. Totally worth the money and taking the kids out.
