  • Electric Fireplaces

We don't have one at all in this house, but I miss the idea of a fireplace and a mantle. I've seen electric fireplaces/mantles for sale at differing stores, and I think I'd like to take the plunge. It isn't so much needed for heat, but that's an added bonus.
Big Lots sells a few models for a fairly reasonable price, and I'm considering purchasing one for our living room. We have a huge picture window, and I think it would really tie the space together so nicely.

Has anyone purchased one before? Thoughts?

Honestly I'm not a fan. I think they look kinda cheap

Depends on the model. Some are pretty cool.

We had one in our master bedroom in our old house. We built a fireplace around it. It was awesome. I don't remember the brand though.

I think a white mantle would be more "beachy". I can go look at this thing in person: yay or nay?

I think it's worth checking out in person. It could be really cool. I haven't seen many outside of pictures in catalogs/online.
